Great tour plus great beers at the end. Great beers especially the special vanilla black amd tan and winners beer.
The best
Great experience!
Best brewery and brewery tour I’ve ever had the pleasure of going on. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Yuengling! I can’t wait to come back with my wife and family.
My wife and I had an amazing time touring this historic brewery. Our guide JJ was great, and she was extremely knowledgeable. She also took her time making sure we had a great experience, especially being a bit of a slow day. The caves and the tasting were highlights. My wife, who doesn't even drink beer truly enjoyed her visit. I would definitely recommend 👌
Great tour! Thanks for sharing!!!
I'm dropping Stars I hate being Gaslighted by a company. If the company wants exposure and they are ok with people recording during the tours it should be policy that the Guide knows if they want the Job this is part of it. And not be up to some that make their own rules telling people they can't record while some allow it. I just received an email from Yuenglimg when I noticed a lot of YouTube videos surfacing and the guild clearly tells people Photos and Videos are OK and encouraged. But I was told to turn Off my GoPro that only the Guide noticed the little red light on it was attached to my jacket I wasn't waving a phone around. Like some people do. I was very professional about it . This company seems to have lost its Roots. The water is not the same, the beer made In Tampa is not the same . I've been drinking Yuenglimg since Just after the Larger was introduced. It's becoming another Anheuser Bush . So sad. (Update after Yuengling's response) . they sent a response to me that shows how they operate. Some Guides are ok with recording some are not? You can't make this dependent on the employee or their mood that day, it's either or people travel long distances to take the tour, so either higher guides that are expected to deal with unobtrusive recording or not. Don't make it a gamble for the guest of what's allowed the day they visit Yuenglimg I understand there's a level of respect needed but when nobody notices except the Guide that's a visitor has a camera on their chest they are not waving a phone around or a camera on a Gimbal.
Of the different breweries and wineries I've visited so far, the Yuengling Brewery and Museum is my favorite. Not only because you get to see how the longest running brewery in America makes their beer, but also some very interesting bits of history as well as likely the second best location in the world - next to an Irish Catholic church.
The tour is free of charge and one runs every 30 minutes till 3 in the afternoon. All you do is let the attendant up front at the giftshop that you want to go on the tour and they will sign you in and put a wristband on you for the next group. You could wait up to 30 minutes but if you time it right, the wait should be minimal.
The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the brewery and its history, including some of the interesting bits about what happened during Prohibition (one of the more interesting topics for breweries and wineries that survived the era), their caves as well as their original rathskeller and the murals over the brewing tanks. Do be prepared to walk - there's a good number of stairs and as this is the original brewery building they can be a challenge to climb and definitely wear tennis shoes.
The current tasting room across the street is very nice with a gorgeous serving bar and most of their current line of beers available to try. You get two free samples (locally made root beer for those who ever don't like beer or are a bit young to partake); personal recommendation is to ask for a 50-50 (half porter and half Chetty; their original Black and Tan). The awesome thing about the tasting room is that they also fill growlers. Yes, if you enjoy the 50-50, you can even get a growler filled up with 50-50. Or any other Yuengling product currently on their taps.
The gift shop is also very nice and carries a good selection of Yuengling merchandise. They also sell cases of their beer there which is reasonably priced. You can also find much of the gift items on their website as well.
Overall, if I have to recommend places in Pennsylvania to go, I would definitely recommend the Yuengling Brewer and Museum.
Loved getting to see the cave and you can’t go wrong with two free beer samples at the end of the tour 🤘🏼
Also the 19-year-old tour guide (whose name escapes me) was a delight and filled with knowledge!
My main point of interest today was the D. G. Yuengling Gift Shoppe. It was a delightful experience made even more enjoyable by Johnie or Joni (Forgot to ask her for the correct spelling) who spent most of our time filling us in on all things Yuengling making the history lesson she taught us both interesting and incredibly helpful! The whole experience was excellent as we learned all about the oldest brewery in the country! She told of the Ice Cream that they made and stopped making ; bringing it back again only to lose it again in 2019, this time due to the disastrous scam know as COVID 19. We were escorted into the amazing Taproom and treated to several seven ounce samples of our choice (My favorite being “Bongo Mango”. They also have a delicious Brewed Birch Beer, for those on the tour that may be under 21 years of age. We didn’t have time to do the whole tour but Bill and I have already started making plans to return and do just that! If you find yourself anywhere near Pottsville, PA treat yourself to this amazing historical experience! Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a fun and informative outing, this brewery is a must-visit! The one-hour guided tour is completely free and packed with fascinating details about the company's history and brewing process. The tour ends on a high note with free samples, allowing you to taste some of their best offerings. There's also a small gift shop where you can pick up souvenirs to remember your visit.
I highly recommend going during the weekdays to see the production in action. Plus, there's a free parking lot on-site, making it super convenient. Overall, a fantastic experience that’s well worth your time!
Great tour with a full history. Tour guide Daniel was awesome
