Hands down the BEST fried chicken wings in the City of Reading, Pa & has been for more than 30 years. I wasn’t born in this City, but I’ve been eating these wings for more than 30 years strong. Many years ago, he used to have more tasty items for sale, but over the years has reduced it to what customers really want/need which is Soul Food. Headlined by the best fried chicken wings the City of Reading has to offer. Before I begin I must tell you that I am only here to review their wings & fries, delivery through DoorDash has only been available for a a month or so. Prior to this, it’s ALWAYS been pickup. The fries are the basic straight cut fry. They weren’t over or under cooked and matched up well with the wings. The added roll is a black thing. I am black so please don’t think that was a foul statement. Most of us, myself included will not eat fried chicken without bread. It doesn’t matter if 10 pounds of fries were included in the platter. There must be ? As you can see, each piece of chicken was coated and cooked properly. There was no darker or lighter pieces. Every piece of skin on every piece of chicken was the same color. This tells me that no matter how busy they get the food quality is consistent. Please note that this place gets real busy so sometimes DoorDash isn’t available. You may have to call and place your order then pick it up. These wings were served hot which is always a plus when being delivered. Seasoned to perfection with crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. Once you take a bite, you won’t stop eating until all of your wings are gone. Don’t even think about sharing them with a fellow newcomer. Pay the money and get everyone their own platter. Another plus was that I didn’t notice any hairs on my chicken. Now I’m not saying that your piece won’t have any, but mines didn’t. If you happen to stop by, tell them Big Dave sent ya. My family and I are from Utah and we was in Reading visiting my son in college. We randomly chose this place off Google and I'm glad we went here. The guys were very friendly and the food oh my goodness was amazing. The only thing was the pork chops were a little dry but everything else was amazing. We got the fried chicken, chicken wings, fried pork chops, Mac n cheese, greens and fries. No complaints from us other than the pork chops little mishap but would definitely eat here again. Keep up the great cooking gentleman

Ate here for my first meal in Reading while at IXarts, the food is fantastic. I got a chicken leg and thigh, sweet potatoes and collard greens. I don't even like collard greens but I ordered them because I knew they'd be good and I was right, they were the best I'd ever had. The food takes a little while to come out but it's worth it. If you have a spare 30 minutes go and have some lunch and chat with the owner, he's a nice guy.Parking: You'll be fine as long as you can parallel park.Kid-friendliness: Seemed kid friendly to me, everyone I met there was very friendly. I don't remember any high chairs but your kids will eat that chicken right up.Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp to enter the building and street parking might make it even harder for folks in wheelchairs. You'd probably have to get their attention and place your order outside.

I have a service animal for seizures and the owner would not let me in and said he don’t care what it is. Super disrespectful.
The owner was highly rude and would not let my trained service animal who I have actual paperwork for in his rest. I explained to him it was a service animal he said he dont care what kind of animal. Food is way over priced for the quality.

E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. is good. The collared greens are amazing, the sweet potatoes amazing, the fried chicken and burgers, amazing. The people are nice and funny. This place has one of the best burgers I have had in my entire life. The fried chicken could honestly outrank any other fried chicken. It-s an Easy 5/5.

I started eating at Beckett’s many years ago when I patrolled the area. I’ve been retired almost 20 years and I still eat at Beckett’s. Jon and Kevin fry things up perfectly. Their Ribs and Chicken are top notch. Call ahead to order. When you pick it up you are guaranteed your meal will be done just right. If you never ate there, you are missing the best food around. Beckett’s is the best. Period……??????
