Diverse menu. Had liberty rice with tempura chicken. Fantastic. Wife had the lobster grilled cheese. She raved how much lobster was in there. Well done 👍

Food was cold when originally severed . I got the chicken fingers & fries sent it back and they put the same food back in the grease and cooked it again and served it to me . Fries & chicken was dark in color and hard . This was the second time I've tried to eat in this place will not be returning .

We went for Monday night trivia. It was fun but we left before the end and only played two and a half rounds. The food was great I had a Cobb salad and my husband had wings. They have a lovely beer selection and they happen to be one of the few places in Berks county that is actually open on a Monday night.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Berks County. I was grateful when they added the additional dining area, it makes it feel more open and makes it easy to talk with family. My husband and I enjoy the seasonal/weekly special options, both food and beer. I am sad when a seasonal favorite rotates off, I am eagerly awaiting the return of their chicken and waffles- if it's been back since I had it several years ago, I've missed it every time.

The drinks are great, the food on the other hand was alright. The fried pickles did not taste right to me, and I am not one to be picky with my food. The fried pickles were raw and I had the suspicion that they tasted funny so I cut some of them open and the batter was oozing out. Not good at all. I also had the jalepeno popper burger, hoping it would be good. There was not much flavor at all. I can’t say I’d visit back here for dinner time. Maybe just drinks.

Great Atmosphere…..like my brother mentioned several times it’s like the Cheers the tv sitcom. Good eats, flavorful hearty portions, leaps and bounds above your average bar menu. Prompt, friendly service that was very attentive to our wants and needs.

Visited recently with a party of 8. Generally the menu had decent bar food. Service was good, acoustics were very loud in and around the main bar.

Stopped after riding mountian bike at Mt Penn with a group. Amazing drink selection, fast service and great menu selection. Our entire group was happy with their choices. Found our new after-ride spot!

This past Saturday, I took my wife and sister-in-law to Liberty Ale House on Lancaster Avenue in Reading, PA, a restaurant we have visited many times before. What should have been a routine dinner turned into a highly disappointing and concerning experience.
We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and were seated immediately in the side room. Despite multiple servers working the tables around us, we sat for 20 minutes without being acknowledged. I had to approach a server, who eventually became our waitress, to explain that no one had even offered us drinks. She blamed a hostess error and then took our order.
It took another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive and an additional 25 minutes before our appetizer was served—immediately followed by our entrées. At no point after dropping off our food did our waitress return to check on us. She ignored our table completely while tending to others, which was both unprofessional and disrespectful.
Even worse, my wife’s French onion soup contained a plastic lid. This is not just a mistake—it is a serious food safety hazard. Our waitress apologized, removed the item from our bill, and provided a voucher, but when I asked to speak with a manager, I was told none were working. When I asked to speak with whoever was in charge, I was again told no one was available.
I paid the bill and left, but this experience was unacceptable. Poor service is one issue, but serving food contaminated with foreign objects is a critical health and safety concern. Combined with the absence of any manager or supervisor on duty, this raises major questions about how this restaurant is being operated.
As a longtime customer, I am extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I cannot trust the safety or reliability of returning to Liberty Ale House.
I attempted to contact them via their website; however, have not received a response.
