Well......I must say, my visit to Platinum Café & Lounge was quite the experience. That description may very well be an understatement, but it was definitely an interesting time for both myself and my three girlfriends. While the venue may not have been the greatest to me, I am sure others will love it! We went to the lounge after attending a old school hip hop concert a the Santander Arena. We did a random google search and found this spot which serve food, drinks and hookah, so it was just what we were looking for. The venue is not too big, but it was clean. There is seating at the bar and also both tall pub tables and shorter tables with chairs. We opted to sit at one of the tables with chairs and were happy to find out positioned "out of the way" for the action. There was a live band playing Dominican music and they were performing their hearts out! Not my preference, but it was good live music nonetheless. As the night went on the DJ switched to hip-hop and other popular music genres. The staff was nice, but my issue is most of the staff did not speak English, so it was hard for us to order drinks and foods. Our group of four ordered a few rounds of shots, asking for three vodkas and one tequila each time and the order was incorrect every time. We actually resorted to typing in a translator app on our phones to speak to the staff. The guy providing the hookah spoke English but failed to tell us that after paying $30 for the initial hookah, it costs another $20 bucks to have the hookah relit. Of course I didn't find that out until after he had completed the action and was looking for more money. Makes we wonder if he took advantage of the situation, but I won't come to a conclusion on that. The food was typical bar food, nothing special. The shots were likely mid-shelf quality, we also shared a bucket of Coronas amongst us four. Our bill was very affordable at the end of the night, so I am glad we weren't racked over the coals. All and all, I had a fairly decent time at this lounge.

This is great place for high energy latino clubbing. It is a latin cuisine and dance lounge, with hookahs and a few famous performers who perform live. The place is small. But would deff recommend in the warmer times of the year cause the outside opens up and its as if you're in a slice of dr (dominican republic) there is a pool table, you pay per game. It is a dollar by quarters, they have a machine that exchanges 1 5 and 10 dollar bills for quarter. Has amazing food. Would recommend seafood dishes like the red snapper ( both boca chica style and its steamed version) there are many other diverse plates for all different occasions, the chef (Luis) and his culinary team are great at their respective dishes. My favorite place to go and draw. If you want to eat go early, if you want to dance and socialize, go late. Hookah is also available. Salsa Sundays has such a great vibrant cultured feel in the ambience. Overall, they capture the essence of latin party culture. I as a Dominican american born in NYC love the feel of this place. It is a night joint, so be prepared for everything that comes with that. Security is pretty great though and are quick to extinguish any situation that may occur.Love for this place, the people and their food. Pray they continue to strive. It is family owned and the owners and their family are great people and mean well always. Cool cats too.

This place has great food, the service is mediocre, and some of the people that go here are weird. If you go here and observe anything please comment on how the people that go here made you feel.
