Food: it was very tasty. However , my husband got the lobster Mac-n-cheese and gave it an “ok”. It lacked flavor. I had chicken primavera which I enjoyed but for the price I was hoping I’d actually get chicken in it. My father in law had 1 of the 3 that were available that evening pork chops special. he thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was good , the drinks were good but it seemed overpriced. Expect $16 cocktails. We still will go backService : our waitress offered to turn up lights for us. They also took off two of our desserts for our birthday dinner which was unexpected and generous.Atmosphere : it’s trendy , I love the decor , but it’s Dark !! We sat in corner and very little lighting . The waitress did offer to turn up lights but I didn’t want to bother everyone else’s experience . We still enjoyed our time and will go back

It has some of the most delicate and well-balanced gourmet dishes around. I particularly love scallops and salmon.

Lovely staff and good food. Has the steak and Gorgonzola flatbread—wish it would’ve had arugula on top it needed an extra something but was very good regardless. Also ordered their Caesar salad thinking it would be just like a side salad portion but it was massive. Tuna tartare special as appetizer was amazing.

We came here for Thanksgiving and we were so impressed. Everything was made to order and every bite delicious. We have some food allergies and they were able to accommodate. This is our first time eating out for Thanksgiving and we will definitely be back for another holiday. We have been here for several meals now and every one delicious. And the cocktails are creative and very well done.Dietary restrictions: We have complicated allergies and because everything is made to order they were able to accommodate. And they were so gracious about it. A rare treat for our family for sure!Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, plenty of room to navigate a wheelchair

I really enjoyed my meal here. The pesto pasta is amazing. They make their pasta homemade. The service was a bit slow- however the deliciousness of the food made up for it!

Have been to State Hill twice now- both times excellent! This time we enjoyed the seafood dip and bread board for starters, both excellent! All of our entrees were wonderful, but the star of this visit was our server Megan. She was so friendly & accommodating, as well as patient with our group that took a little longer than usual to order due to our chattiness rather than looking at the menu! Thank you Megan!! A wonderful experience as always!

Not happy with it and wouldn't go back, weird seating layout, receptionist was not welcoming. Food quality does not match their high prices and in general food taste was not good, chicken was hard to cut and has no taste to it, probably old. Over all their meals don't worth such price, probably good for a beer at the bar with appetizer.

Service was poor. Hostess were rude and unfriendly. Food had no taste or flavor. Seating was awkward. It was our first time, and I don't see that we will go back again.

Outstanding dinner spot and bar in Reading. I stayed at the Fairfield Inn last night and they provided a list of local restaurants. State Hill was not on the list, I just happened to drive by on my way to another restaurant and thought the place looked cool and was much closer to the Fairfield. I'm glad I did. Great atmosphere and bar area. Superb bartender and a lot of fun, interesting people hanging at the bar. Cocktails were great and they also have a solid wine selection. I had the Fried Cauliflower appetizer which was awesome. The sauce was outstanding. I had the filet entree which was also outstanding. Next level presentation and it comes with potatoes and asparagus. I highly recommend for dinner and drinks. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

I fully intend to go back to this restaurant. This was my second time being here as the first was during brunch (served until 2). So the second time we ensured to go after 2. We started off with the Lobster Seafood Dip and my taste buds were singing. For my meal, I ordered the Short Rib Bolognese and it did not disappoint. I will say that they accidentally brought the Short Rib Croquettes, which were amazing so I am glad for the slip up. Also, the Croquettes were of course free of charge along with fixing my order so I consider that a win win. My boyfriend ordered the Dry Aged Choice Angus Ribeye and needless to say I found myself eating his food too. That dipping sauce that comes with the meal was very delicious along with the potatoes. We both enjoyed sharing our meals as they were both quite amazing. Overall, a great experience and I cannot wait to go back!

Came on Valentine's Day. Our server was outstanding, I believe his name was Mike. Very attentive and helpful with recommendations. The ambiance was really nice as well, dim lighting which I loved. We were very excited to try state hill for the first time and I think our expectations were a little high. We started with the fried gnocchi which was delicious. Then for entrees, salmon & chicken. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful. The only mild complaint is I wish the brussels sprouts were cooked a little longer but that's a personal preference. The chicken, however, we felt was a miss. I know it's a "safe" choice but there wasn't much flavor, a little over cooked and the risotto was underdone with a lot of "sauce" pooling on the sides. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will be back to try some other options. As stated by others the seating was a bit awkward as we were seated on the end of the middle island booth & parking was challenging but that's to be expected on a holiday imo.
