Cool atmosphere in the old castle. Service was great and the food was good.
attended a wedding ,place is very nice , but for what it cost per person just for food is horrible, food sucked, service sucked very disappointing
I’m so bummed. I wanted this to be great since it was our first time there and our first time eating out for Thanksgiving. It def wasn’t cheap. The food was horrible. Five out of my group of 7 said how terrible it was. I was mortified since this was my idea for my family to go there for the holiday. The Turkey.. wasn’t even Turkey. I don’t know what that square slice was. The atmosphere was nice, the waitress was pleasant but again… that food is NOT good. I should have listened to the other reviews.
A lovely place, really cool
A fabulous experience!
Stokesay Castle in Reading, PA, is a wonderful choice for a romantic and elegant wedding. This venue combines the charm of a castle with modern amenities, offering a fairy-tale setting with beautiful stone architecture and lush surroundings. Its blend of sophistication and historical ambiance makes it perfect for couples looking for a unique and memorable wedding experience. The team went above and beyond to make our February wedding a memorable celebration. Since it was an unseasonably warm day, they even got the fountain up and running for us. This venue is the gem of Berks County. 10/10.
You gotta go eat some food there
We visited the castle for fine dining recently. The atmosphere was pleasing. People were very friendly and helpful. Most of our experience was very pleasant. Most of the food was good, especially the steak, which was outstanding, very tender, juicy and flavorful, definitely the best steak for me so far, given that I have trotted many places over the globe. A few things that needed to be improved, the chicken was way too dry, we were not given any napkins till we had to ask for them.
We got married here in 2019 and for our 5th anniversary, we made the trip back to enjoy Chef Willy's pre-set menu. The food was as delicious as we can remember (guests still mention the food at our wedding, especially the risotto), and our waiter Mark was an absolute delight ?
We also got to see the new renovation of the ballroom, which looks incredible and can't wait to try the Thanksgiving buffet, our waiter pretty much sold us on trying it. See you again soon!!
Spent the evening at the Pub, wonderful experience it reminds me of the late canal street pub. 5/5 will return with the entire party next time!
Restaurantji Recommends
Everyone working there was friendly, but our main meals weren't anything to brag about. The desserts were excellent, though. Would definitely recommend going here for the beautiful scenery and some dessert.
Great ambiance, fantastic location if a bit out of the way for people just passing through town. The beer cheese (pretzel) was surprisingly watery and bland for being in/near the pretzel capital of the US, but the steak dinner special and creme brulee we're fantastic.
Loved the food and the atmosphere!!
Great atmosphere and service. Menu could have a few additions. There didn't seem to be much on the menu for options however what we did order was delicious
The best place in town . The staff is awesome. Britni great drinks and conversation. Sherry very friendly and accommodating. Love her sense of humor. We look forward to our Sunday visits. The food is awesome too!
