Food ok cooked potatoes laying out though, ALSO CAN USE A GOOD CLEANING. Very nice staff. It's hard to keep a place clean, but when everything is in the open, you gotta deep clean even when people can't see. Also, wear gloves, please.

Nothing is made to Oder. Everything is already cooked including fry’s. No one wears gloves. You touch money then food. No good. Burgers are already made. If you want cheese on it, they take their hand and they get the cheese and put it right on your burger. They put the toppings on it with their hands no gloves. This is so disgusting and needs to be shut down. I spent over $20 there and it was not worth two cents. The food was nasty. I fought hair in my food. It may have came from his hands. Food not worth $1. First and last time going there. Cheese not melted. Never ever again.

Over priced hot dogs , skimpy portion of beef sauce on hot dog , skimpy portion of onions on hot dog and hardly any mustard on hot dog either. Not the restaurant it used to be and for $4 apiece not a pleasant stop for me

I used to frequent this shop as an employee of a nearby business. But I’m now an out-of-state visitor, and this week I’ve been introducing my daughters to all the nostalgia of Berks County and the surrounding area, from food to fun activities.
We were slated to grab lunch, and I had a general idea that a spot on Lancaster Ave. might be in order. As we drove past The Dog House, I suspected that could be our best choice, and I’m thankful to say, our experience was just like I remembered back in the day — great food, service, and atmosphere.
I have never seen my daughters scarf down their food so fast! I was shocked yet not at all surprised. I asked them if they wanted more of the same. Their answers, a resounding “yes, please!” How could a Dad not proudly fulfill that request?
A man has never been more grateful to have landed in “The Dog House.”

Always loved coming here. We always enjoy the delicious flavor of a hot & yummy coney island dog. My husband and I decided to stop in, and the dogs weren't hot. They were luke warm, the rolls soggy until he got to his 2nd dog. The fries were good as usual, though. I'm disappointed they got rid of the fountain sodas. Also, the service was slow, I hate to see what it would've been a major busy time. I am extremely disappointed with how much you pay for the food and the service received. I usually don't write bad reviews, but the food, service & atmosphere were awful.

When my husband and I crave a hot dog, this place hits the spot. I have noticed some inconsistencies in their food here and there though. Don’t get me wrong, it’s never BAD, it’s just less perfect sometimes. The other day when I went, the hamburger bbq was on the colder side, and had less sauce than usual; but it was still pretty good. The fries are always yummy and hot. All drinks are available in a cooler, so no fountain drinks. We are beyond thankful that they have cold cans of Coke!
The small dining area is basic, but I go here understanding I’m not going to encounter a 5 star white cloth table. The service is never bad per se, but the employees aren’t exactly jumping up and down to see you. It’s almost like they’re robots without emotions.
Service was decent, but the food was great and affordable. I’d definitely recommend it!

They have the best chilli dogs I’ve ever had. Also they have homemade chips that are just freaking delicious and you get them with chilli and cheese and omg they and amazing. I had to come back for more there food is soo good. So if you want awesome food that wont break the bank 💯 I recommend the dog house!!!

Person behind the counter is huffing and puffing and complaining about my hotdogs I ordered off the menu , horrible service had nothing at all to make the hotdogs I ordered , keeps threatening to quit as I’m standing there . Took over 30 minutes for 3 hotdogs .
