The poutine tots were delicious, good beers and friendly service. Black Cap was beautifully restored inside. Our only complaint is the pub height chairs, which are very uncomfortable.

I always enjoyed the previous Black Cap in Red Lion and have patiently waited for the new venue. I decided to go to the NEW Black Cap now on N. Franklin in Red Lion a few times before I share my review. I was not disappointed! Very nice menu and GREAT BEER list. I just love their lager and hefeweizen beers. We have tried several menu items, and we truly enjoy the smash burgers and the grilled cheese sandwich. Last night I tried the beef stew soup which was very tasty. We have been treated extremely well during all our visits; service was excellent even when the Black Cap was at capacity. It is always a great night when you get great food and great service at a very nice local Brewing Company. If you are in the Red Lion area, please drop in at the Black Cap Brewing Company for some great food and beer.

Our server was fantastic, and 2/3 beers were great. Food was pretty average, could've made the charcuterie better myself but the wings were tasty enough. Would go again for a few drinks at the bar as it was a nice vibe.

first time tonight and I will be honest highly disappointed they were out of fries crab soup mac and cheese...40 percent of their menu..they need to plan better and be ready for us that are waiting to check them out. HOWEVER ****** The burgers the service and atmosphere made our experience an A+ this made a huge difference considering the disappointment. we did go a little later and it was towards the end of the week so okay fine. we will definitely be back!! beer was amazing and the history and again the food they did have was great. I'm glad to see these folks back in business. Sign of the Horse should be worried Black Cap knows what they are doing and beats other brewery out by a mile!

The new venue is great. It’s just what I look for in a local craft brewery, tasty and well made beers, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. We’ll be back.

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Mr. Bentley and his wife & family while at Black Cap yesterday. Wonderful, friendly people. Very attentive and happy to help in anyway. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be back again!

Awesome except for the incorrectly named “smash burger”. That ain’t no Smash Burger folks. In fact, that is the worst Bar Burger I’ve ever had. All bland and pale and stuff. I don’t get it.
