We arrived at 5:15 and didn't get our food till 6:30. The waitress was terrible. She didn't ask us what sides we wanted. So we told her they were included with our meal. I got my side but the other people in our party never received theirs. When we finally received our meals, which by the way were terrible, the waitress never came back to see how everything was or if we needed anything else. We finally saw her when it was time to give us our check. We had to tell her to take the sides of the checks because we never got them. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Terrible.

I was at the restaurant today with a party of 24. Our reservation was for two o’clock we never received our meals till 3:45 PM. We were not told that we would not be able to get separate checks unless we paid 22%
gratuity. We didn’t have an option so we agreed to pay. We finally left around 4:45 PM. We had been to the hotel years prior to the new owners and didn’t have this problem. The only saving grace was the food was hot and tasty !!? They need another waitress to take care of a group this large.

We didn't stay at the hotel.
I've been there before and always good food.
We were outside and some in our group moved to get out of the sun. Another umbrella would have solved the problem.
Food and drinks: Food was very good

We had dinner last night and I ordered the Caesar salad and salmon. Salad was limp and soggy. The salmon was the size of a fish stick. Wife had a salad with chicken breast and the chicken was dry, cold and tough. Lettuce wilted and bad. Service was terribly slow. Sat down at 6:30 and received our drinks 35 minutes later. It wasn’t busy at all. Men’s room floor puddled with urine. Gross ?. Then an additional charge for credit card. Hoped new ownership would make it better. NOPE

We were on vacation and my husband and I were taking the whole family out for dinner. One of the son-in-laws found this restaurant that wasn't to far from our Vrbo so we thought we would try it. Our reservation was at 5:30 so we could beat the rush because we had 4 grandkids 6 and under. There was a total of 14 of us. They had called us to see if it was ok to be seated outside and told us it was in the shade. Well it was not, and we had to move the umbrellas around so that only a few were still in the sun. The service ended up being terrible also. Took for ever to get waiting on for drinks, only 3/4 of the people received their drinks, so had to go find her for the rest of them. We did not get our food til 7:00, never was asked how everything was til we were almost done with our meal. Our end of the table asked for more water and more pop and she delivered it to the other end. Nothing was good about this waitress. It's like she knew the tip would be built in and did not care how her service was. The hostess wasn't even friendly. It wasn't like they were packed on the patio either. Thank god they had music going on in the patio area to entertain the kids. When the food came it was nothing to brag about. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I spent the weekend in Sarver at West Fest and had the pleasure of staying at Saxonburg’s historical hotel. This is my second time there. It is so quaint and the owner Annette is very personable and gracious . Can’t want to go back in September for another event in Saxonburg. I will definitely be staying there again. I would highly recommend this unique hotel if you’re ever staying in the area.

Fine dining at its finest! Hotel Saxonburg has always been my go to place. With the new ownership I was curious how it would be. They have not only up kept the quality of food and service but rather improved. They have maintained the same sustainability that I have been accustomed to for years. They are taking brave new approaches on already excellent dishes. I am very impressed that Hotel Saxonburg has continued the historic aspect of the restraunt while pushing boundaries in such a positive way. I look forward to everything the new owners bring to our community.

I lived the historic atmosphere. The food was just ok and the service was very slow.
I was visiting my brother in Town with Dad, 87 , in tow.
Our next stop was Lernerville Speedway, so we were on the lookout for a decent dinner other than a greasy spoon or fast food. Brother Steve mentioned the Hotel. Off we went. Great menu selections of dishes I've rarely or never seen. I ordered that night's special, a 4 course Strip steak with baked potato, broccoli salad and mushroom barley soup. The server recommended we split it between the 2 of us. She served our soup n salad individually. The steak (locally sourced, fresh, aged beef) prepared medium was delicious. We shared an excellent dinner and experience with a local couple I invited to our table who couldn't wait 45 minutes for an outdoor patio table.
I'll definitely revisit the Saxonburg Hotel on my/our next visit.

I tried to have my wedding ceremony here but the owners gave me such a hard time. Making me wait, giving me the run around . And twirl my thumbs until they gave me the okay. At this point I only had 4 months to send out the invitations. Only 10% of the people I invited were able to make it. When I constantly told them to write down my name, date and time which they refused to. Not to mention when we finally did, my now husband and I got food poisoning. My family has been a life long customer of Saxonburg Hotel. Ever since our experience we plan to never go back again. Such a disappointment.
Had a great brunch. Food was excellent and service was friendly. Took a little longer than expected when they weren't overly busy, but we weren't in a hurry. We will visit again.

Went 5 /25/24 with family from out of state. They seated us at a table right beside the musician. My son-in-law measured the decibels, it was 96%! Needless to say it was not a relaxing evening. We could not talk to each other. It was so loud! If they would have told us there was a party in the other room we would have left but they did not. And all those people got served before us. We did not get waited on for at least 20 minutes. the soup and salad came out after 30 minutes then the meal 1 hour later. The family visit was only for 2 days and I feel that evening was wasted because we couldn't visit, just sit there and stare at each other. The food was not that good and I felt bad for the waitresses, they tried. Won't be going back there and I do not recommend!
