For a little restaurant in the skook, they aren’t bad, not at all.
I’ve had a variety of the many different dishes they offer over the years and some of the complaints aren’t accurate at all. I’ve never had them over charge me, and I’ve never had issues with my meal. The food’s always been solid and they are kind when I stop in.
Now, their seating area was closed due to COVID and it took them a bit to reopen it, but I can confirm it’s reopened because I’m in the building as I’m writing this.
I’ve tried a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area however, yet I always find myself coming back to New China. Especially for their cheese wontons, they aren’t sweet as other places and I really like that. I’ve been eating here for years now and the food’s consistent and it’s good. It’s not some 5 star Michelin restaurant, but it doesn’t have to be, it’s good food for fair price and it always lasts me a few days.

Amazing food. My first time ordering from there and it will now be my go to place for Chinese. I hope in the future they add spring rolls, but either way: hot, fresh, delicious food.
New China restaurant is opening their dine in room. On May 27th 2025
It ain't bad, it ain't great. Right in the middle. Decent Chinese food that'll fill ya up for a decent price. Cant complain but can't praise it much either.
Food sucks worst Chinese food I ever had very dirty inside restaurant
This has the best General Tso's chicken in the county. Growing up in NJ I ate a lot of good Chinese food. But now, after living in Schuylkill county, PA for 14 years I have been continually disappointed with underwhelming Chinese food. That is, until I ate at this place. It's really pretty great and more like what I was used to in NJ.
The location itself is very worn and weathered but do not let that turn you off. It is worth trying! The people that work there are nice too!

My boyfriend and I tried this place on a whim and I just have to say it was the best decision ever! The food is always freshly cooked and ready to go when we arrive. The prices are extremely fair. The food is homemade and made with passion. The building is a little run down, but most authentic, and true food owners have that as well!

Take out with good friends...?
Dealing with them online leads you to believe that there is a restaurant (there isnt). Then when ordering over the phone they pretend it's a bad connection or can't understand English (it's a lie). Topping off the experience though, is asking for an extra, and when you tell them the dollar amount (they know no other way) they say ok. But get there and they charge $5-$10 more than you agreed.

Be prepared to wait far longer than what you are told. Otherwise, food was okay.
