Great Mac n cheese! Like Great! Burger was perfect and the house salad had a dressing that was so yummy. Sweet, tart, fruity, flavorful. Server was so great. I'll be back!

After driving for 16 hours, getting to our hotel and trying to find food late evening in Scranton... Backyard Ale House came through in a pinch. The got the kitchen to make us food at end of shift which we are most grateful for. Ryan was our server but everyone helped us. A beer, a martini and some food... We would recommend them to anyone! Thanks for being so welcoming and for a great experience after a tragically long day.

The very definition of subpar. We waited about 45mins for a chicken sandwich and a burger. Also $7 for a side of sweet potato fries?!?!? For that price yall better hand feed them to the customer. Only redeeming part was the live music.

This place has great food! We started with the Bavarian pretzels which come with three pretzels and cheese and mustard dips. I had the roast beef sandwich which was stacked and had great flavor and onion rings. My buddy had the BBQ sampler with the pork, ribs, and brisket which he said was delicious. Of course the beer options are endless as there is a very large list of options draft or bottled/can. The service was also very good and I will definitely be stopping by again!

There was lots of waitstaff but it took a very long time to receive my order. I was wondering if they forgot my order in the kitchen. My fries were cold. The turkey burger didn't taste as good as turkey burgers I have purchased from the store & cooked. The side sauce was very sweet which could have been for an Auntie Anne pretzel and not a compliment to add to my dish. The plate presentation/plating was good. No Russian or thousand island dressing which usually goes with a turkey burger deluxe irder. No offers of refill on my water. I was seated next to the bar so I was surprised by the lack of good service.
May be a one & done for me.

We stopped in for a drink because most of the bars downtown were closed. The mackenzie's black cherry cider is out of this world, as are the french fries with chili and cheese. We had already had dinner, but I would have loved to have tried their barbecue because the smell was incredible.

Stopped in yesterday 11/13/2025 and took a seat on my own because there was no greeting or instructions . Took a while to get menus even though the place was empty. Ordered soda and watched the guy(server) with the long hair and beanie sit down and had a conversation with other employees at the bar. Asked him for recommendations on alcoholic beverages since the special wasn’t available. No recommendations were given. Gave me the check after all food was eaten and again just sat at the bar talking to employees so I got up to hand him my card so I could leave. No sense of urgency or priority for customer service. If you treat people like they won’t tip you seal the deal for no tip. Food is good but will never return to this place. Sad that I really felt he didn’t care for us because we’re black.
