They can not cook no seasoning
Scranton PA food nasty PERIOD
I very much enjoyed breakfast at Carmen’s. The building is beautiful, excellent service and quick food turnaround.
Highly recommend stopping it!
This place used to be an amazing experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and it is situated in downtown Scranton in literally the most amazing location. The holiday brunch used to be absolutely incredible. Now? Not so much. The staff are inattentive. The hostesses are rude. If we return, and that’s a BIG IF, perhaps I shall change my star ratings…but right now…these stars reflect our most recent experiences. It has been disappointing to see this place go down. Mismanagement, that’s ultimately the problem. On all levels. It’s top-down and bottom-up. Get a grip on it and fix it. May you be the Radi that you once were back in the Y2K.
Amazing architecture! Staff are terrific
For the past six years, our Thanksgiving tradition has been to dine at Carmen's. Regrettably, this year's experience was severely lacking in terms of food selection, warmth, and availability.
Upon being seated, we promptly ordered drinks. However, the Autumn martini arrived in a juice glass filled with ice, and we had to wait an additional twenty minutes for the remaining beverages. Our waiter informed us that there was only one bartender working on Thanksgiving, which seemed inadequate for the occasion.
Furthermore, the coffee we received was served cold. The buffet was frequently empty for extended periods, up to thirty minutes at times. This was not an exaggeration, as the stuffing was only brought out as we were departing, having been unavailable throughout our meal.
This Thanksgiving gathering included two other couples, and we were not the only ones expressing dissatisfaction. Nearby tables were also complaining, and people were standing and waiting for food to be replenished at the buffet.
The reason for this decline in service is unclear, but it has certainly prompted us to reconsider our patronage of Carmen's in the future.
We did speak to the manager, who offered the customary apologies, but we believe that preventive measures should be taken to avoid such situations altogether.
Despite the circumstances, our waiter, Devon, was apologetic and understanding. Although the shortcomings were not his fault, we left him a holiday gratuity as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts.
Very nice place to eat. We had breakfast there, and the food was great. The service was even better. Definitely recommend.

Food was good but only one meal served hot.
The first two tables were wobbly. The third was solid but too close to a cold air vent.
Waitress was very low energy, lacked basic skills like pouring coffee without spilling down the side of the mug and had to be asked to refill coffee and even water glasses. She didn't really seem to care.
They didn't answer the phone when I called around 8:45am to ask about breakfast service.
There was plenty of staff on hand yet we waited quite some time to be attended.

Food was extremely disappointing. Ordered 2 filets first time was raw. They said they will make it again. So we waited another 20ish so minutes for 2 more meals and this time they brought out filet and again it was raw.
Also for the food served it is expensive. I highly advise staying away.
However our server was very nice so that was a positive. And even that you eat in a hotel lobby it is a pretty hotel lobby.

Carmen's is hands down the most beautiful restaurant in Scranton, and next is Posh. Carmen's has a great menu, excellent appetizers and salads, plus amazing entree dishes including beef, seafood and veal. It's the perfect atmosphere whether for dinner or to celebrate with family at their fabulous Holiday brunches. Absolutely worthy!!!
