Great old fashioned bakery with a nice selection of breads, pastries and cookies. The hard rolls (less than $1 each!) looked phenomenal as did the bagels. Since it was close to St. Patrick's Day, they had Irish soda bread and also hot cross buns available. There were also biscuits with raisins in them. They looked fine! Unfortunately, there is no seating in the store, it is simply a store. I could see this being a nice place to come for a morning bagel or hard roll with butter. They just aren't set up to do so. I got an eclair and it was excellent, large and had a great ganache frosting. It was gone quite quickly. They also had a nice selection of cookies, danish and turnover pastries. You can buy rolls separately or in a bag. They have dinner rolls, too. If you're looking for "Texas toast" this is where you can get that kind of bread. Other kinds of bread that they have: Multigrain, Rye (unseeded), a pulled(?) white, and others. There was much more than I recall. Definitely worth the trip. Prices were reasonable and I'm sure the quality is better than you'll find at a grocery store.

Fresh baked goods.... what could be better. Many bread and roll options. Many bagel flavors, delicious pastries including cupcakes, cookies and more. My favorite is the Poppyseed Danish. Yum! The storefront is bare bones. Shelves and display cases of the products. The employees are there to sell you the goods, you are in a short line waiting to get the hard rolls or horns and get back in your car so you can start chowing down as you drive away. Remember to slather a hard roll with butter when you get home. Enough said!

This is the walk-in store for the National Bakery. I found this place by accident years ago.Now, every time I drive by Scranton, PA, we detour to National Bakery!!We stock up on fresh made Breads, Rolls and Sweets!! We sit in their parking lot and sample our purchases!!I am amazed at how many customers stop by for a "daily" purchase!They come out with small bags compared to our big bags!!Imagine being able to stop in daily!! The local residents are very lucky.Not only are the baked goods excellent, the prices are very reasonable. Add the super pleasant workers and it's a trifecta!If you have the chance, stop in here. The selections are better earlier in the day. This time, we came after 3 PM and still had lots to choose from, but saw some empty shelves.I recommend their "horn" rolls, hard poppy seed rolls and my absolute favorite yellow cake frosted with coconut! The Danish and Strudel sticks are very good, too.I am sure I read a Kosher sign at this store. All the better!Dietary restrictions: Kosher Bakery
