We were traveling from NYC to Syracuse to see the Eclipse and we stopped by Scranton to get some food, Sunday around 2pm. We ended up in this small bar that you find basically inside a grocery store. It was great! We ordered a few veggie options and it was incredibly tasty. If I lived in Scranton I would order here very often.

I ordered the fried pork dumplings and the pork dumpling johl (soup). They were both excellent. I’ll definitely get food from here again. The meat was spiced flavorfully and the soup broth was very good.

The food was great. If anyone is interested in either trying out an authentic Nepalese food for the first time or get that homemade Nepalese food taste, then please drop by to have your palates excited. You will definitely not regret at all if you are a foodie like me .

Napali Kitchen delivers a culinary voyage with their 5-star fare. From the flavorful Chicken Chow Mein to the tantalizing Chicken Tikka, every dish boasts authenticity. The modest interior doesn't overshadow the outstanding taste. Vegetable Pakora, Vegetable Momos, and Mango Pickle further elevate the experience. Takeout is a gem if you prefer coziness. I recommend enjoying with friends so you can try several dishes "family style." Warning: They take spice seriously! The North Hill neighborhood has been a home for waves of immigrants and refugees since 1916, when the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) founded the International Institute of Akron (IIA). This local nonprofit organization welcomes new Americans to the U.S., and while the first groups welcomed were Italian (including my Great Grandma), IAA has now resettled more than 1,500 Nepali refugees. Walking around the neighborhood, you'll hear dozens of languages from the people of Nepal, Afghanistan, and the Democratic-Republican of the Congo. Stop in the neighborhood's plentiful international markets (North Hill African Market is a favorite). And check out the art of local artist, first-generation immigrant, and photojournalist Shane Wynn, who has captured the growing and vibrant community: @shanewynnphotography

I don't mean to be rude but this place is gross. From the food to the floors. I probably won't be back here. The chicken masala tasted weird and was way too spicy for a beginner. I recommend you go somewhere else sorry.

The food was very good but there was a minor mess up but everything else was very good. I really enjoyed their food and while I only sat in their sitting area for take out, the inside was nice and had places to stay and eat. It was awhile ago since I've been but I don't believe it took incredibly long. I definitely recommend! I will be trying again!

Really cool place--bar seating (with full bar!) in a small area off of a speciality food market. We had momos, fried rice and a noodle soup--all delicious. Momos are hand made and worth the wait. We were offered a delicious sauce and extra hot peppers. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you feel like delicious Nepalese food for great price at a great place.

Awful food and service. My wife and I were not well for a week after eating here. Only offered about four menu items on top of bad food.

Yum!!! Everything we had here was great. Small little family owned restaurant. When you first come in, there is a bell to ring to be seated if no one is up at the counter. They have a pretty simple menu. We ordered the onion app (can't recall the name) and it came with this spicy dipping sauce. So good! Then did the chicken chow mein and curry. Everything was fantastic and tasty. I loved the curry! I did med hot but could have made it even spicier. Parking was all street but easily accessible all front. They also seem to do more take outs. If you stumble upon this place, def try it!

This is my kind of joint! No fuss, no frills, kind of hole in the wall establishment where a lot of natives eat at! Yet they still have a front entrance/waiting area, parking lot and real paper menus. Menu selection is very big and everything was reasonably priced. Taste and presentation were spectacular. Our server was nice, friendly and got everything right. Speed of dishes was slower to come out considering we were the only other couple. Lighting was iffy and the tables and chairs were kind of greasy but it adds to the authentic ambiance. The lamb came out a bit dry but it tasted great mixed with all the other sauces and curries so no worries. Sad that their rice pudding was out (seems every Asian restaurant I've been to in the last 3 months has been out of sticky rice...) but I would totally come back!

Excellent food- everything tasted fresh and delicious. Id highly recommend this restaurant! The ambiance is a little deceiving but trust the chefs!

Just happened to be driving through Scranton and I was looking for a local place with original flavours. Came across this place on Google. It doesn’t look like a restaurant from the outside, but the food was worth the stop. I had the pork chhoilla and the veg fried rice. Absolutely delicious! The previous reviewers were right ?

The area's finest lamb Nepali spaghetti can be found here, and my entire family adores their cuisine. Their butter paneer is equally delightful, and make sure not to miss out on the must-have bhatura bread!
