I really am disappointed that I'm even writing this review because I wanted to love this place.. I saw the many wonderful marketing videos on TikTok and knew I need to try this place. I managed to get my sister to plan an entire girls weekend to Scranton just for the sole purpose of trying this restaurant. We made reservations over 3 weeks in advance and ubered our way into the city since it was the weekend of the St. Patrick's Day parade. It was pouring down raining and our uber driver left us off in the wrong area. When we arrived, soaked through my shoes and entire outfit, eyeliner running, we were greeted at the entrance. "Do you have Reservations?" Yes, we are about 10 mins late due to the storm and our uber driver, sorry about that. "Well, good thing you got here now, I was just about to give your table away." That personally started my meal off in the wrong direction. Seated at the smallest table possibly in existence, we literally only had room for the menus and our drinks. (once the food arrived they had to go on the floor) Our waitress was very pleasant and took our drink & app order (Drinks were 10 out of 10) app was good but barely fit on table. We both ordered Caesar Salad's and the dough injections as our meal. 1 hr later from placing our order we still hadn't received our salads. Our waitress asked us what our order was again because they lost the ticket. Mind you, there were a max of 12 tables in the entire establishment. 45 minutes later our salads arrive on what appear to be slate slabs to which my dressing was pouring over the side. We finished our salads and still not dough injections...They arrived about 10 mins later. Overall, the aesthetic was on point, service and food were not. Certainly not worth a 4 hr drive.

My expectations were high. We made a reservation and our table wasn’t even ready. We were seated and the service was so slow. We never got silverware or napkins at our table. The food was ok. The fries were great. Not worth the price. Didn’t feel like the music fit the vibe. And there were little to no vegan options. It is what it is.

I love this place. However, the reason for 1 less star is because of the hours. I wish you were open an extra day, like Tuesday.

Everything about Noir inside the Ritz theater in Scranton is top-notch and impressive. The food is amazing! The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. The drinks are tasty and made with high-end alcohol. The atmosphere is unique and comfortable. We’ve already been there multiple times.

I came here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend for date night. It started off pretty well until he started having a severe allergic reaction. It turned out the chef does not follow proper kitchen safety and sanitary procedures: the same bowls, pots, and utensils are used without washing for different dishes cross-contaminating them with allergens (in this case peanuts). While at the restaurant my boyfriend was offered Benadryl which wasn’t helpful. We left in a hurry after paying the bill and rushed to the ER. After my boyfriend was stabilized I went back to the restaurant to speak to the manager about the incident in an effort to prevent this from happening to someone else. When I arrived the manager (who by the way is dating the restaurant owner) was taking shots with the rest of the staff. During the conversation, the manager was extremely rude, and unprofessional and not once asked how my boyfriend was doing. She claimed that she offered Benedryl and that it was not her fault that my boyfriend decided to go to the hospital and now had to pay medical bills. She then said "I don't even know how he had such a bad reaction when the chef barely uses peanut butter for the other recipe" not acknowledging that none of the dishes we ordered had peanuts in them. Lastly, we got in touch with the restaurant owner who heard what happened and promised to call back the next day. Needless to say, we never heard back from him again. A life-threatening situation was completely ignored by the boyfriend and girlfriend duo who are running this place. Beware even if you do not have allergens because I assure you that a chef that does not wear hair nets and cross contaminates food most likely violates other basic food safety procedures.Edit: I am not one to want to tear down a small business and LOVE supporting them. This was the worst dining experience of my life and the owner response shows how my experience went when trying to talk to them, which was lie, deny, and belittle us.

Noir Dark Spirits was absolutely incredible! The atmosphere was amazing, the food was beyond delicious, the presentation of said food was very unique and gothic themed, and the prices where more than reasonable, even inexpensive for the quality and quantity at times! The drinks were nothing short of delicious and well mixed to the point of barely tasting the alcohol, but oh, there's alcohol alright! All in all, it was a wonderful experience to the point that my spouse and I are planning a party there in the future! If you like gothic aesthetics, great drinks and great food, you MUST give Noir Dark Spirits a try!

The place is hard to find at night. True it's in a theater but the exterior is so drab. No signs only an unlit wall plaque thingy that you have to be on foot to see as it's just not visible when you drive by. The actual decor in the restaurant was lovely but a little lacking in the ornamentation department. Yes, it's dark & has some macabre displays and pretty furnishings but it was sparse. Some of the food was bland & some were seasoned well. 50/50 on the menu I guess. All was cooked thoroughly but meh. The phlebotomist skulls are strongly suggested. Now the drinks were nicely presented (as pictured) BUT they were watered down and filled with waaaaay too much ice. The waitress was courteous and attentive despite the place being packed. Would I go again? Weh maybe, idk.

We have to hand it to this establishment - it goes all out with the goth gimmick. It is quite dark in the restaurant with a lot of black decor and lighting. All of the menu items are appropriately named to mimic the macabre. We ordered a round of cocktails which were very well presented and well balanced. My husband ordered an old fashioned that was flaming when served. I ordered a gin based drink that smoked and bubbled. We decided to stay and order food to really get a well rounded experience. We ordered a charcuterie board called the Devil's Board and Chicken trapped under a brick. Unfortunately there was a pretty sizable bug on our board. We are not sure if it just landed on the board as we were being served or did it happen in the kitchen? Either way it skeeved us out. The chicken was quite tasty with a nice serving of farro and broccolini. I decided to use the restroom which is located outside of the restaurant and used by other establishments. It was dirty and in need of a cleaning. Another skeev moment. All in, we appreciated the cocktails and may come back just to enjoy the libations.

In their defense maybe it was a weird night? It was for us anyway. Being an 'Elder Goth' I was looking forward to finally visiting Noir Dark Spirits, but perhaps my expectations were too... bright. Here's what I enjoyed; the decor & ambiance, the 'cage dancer', music, & the drinks, the prices. Here's what sucked; the dessert (ugh!) & the service. The service was... slow. The bar had 2 tenders which should have been sufficient. I bartended for yrs, & I understand the food & drinks are complex, take time & skill to prepare but we could barely get a word in with them the entire 2hrs. We gave up on second drinks. It took 20 mins just to get our check even with napkins in & on our glasses, pushed up to the well, waving at them. I finally leaned out over the bar to get someone to notice me.The desserts:We tried 2. The skull cheesecake was an interesting & fun gimmick. You smash the white chocolate skull with a mallet. The actual raspberry cheesecake was okay. We liked the novelty of it.The other lychee dessert was the lowlight of the night; it was so bad I actually enjoyed the horrible experience of it! Abstract & aesthetically pleasing, it seemed like it would be an exciting gastronomic adventure. But that's where the positives end. Before it even hits your tongue the perfume of the dish assaults you. Its pungency is not dampened by your taste buds. Floral notes of unknown origin, presumably lychee, maybe rose & raspberry? overpower everything & were reminiscent of a grandmother's musty purse. My partner could not make it past a first bite & did not want to kiss me the rest of the night... that aroma clings to you. Spellbound by just how awful it was I continued dissection trying to isolate which parts were the worst; the gelatinous mounds or the lavender ganache-like ribbons. I couldn't tell; it was all unpalatable & gave up about halfway in hopes of preserving a romantic evening with my partner! My thought was perhaps this dessert was old & sat too long making the flavors bleed together. Or maybe my taste buds are just too emo & unrefined to appreciate the scary dark horrors embodying it.I would like to give Noir Dark Spirits another chance, try their main food dishes which sound incredibly delicious & will update this if I do. But for now, "noir" might be a bit too hammer on the nail, or skull cake, in this case.

Our party arrived promptly at our reservation time only to have to wait nearly half an hour to be sat. It took forever to get our drinks and food, and we were barely visited by our server who seemed like she didn't care if we lived or died. The only thing relatively redeeming about this experience was the food, which was average at best and served without utensils. We were told by our server that there were no forks left, as they were being polished—we never received them. I ate my food with a spoon. Also not sure how to explain how a popular bar in NEPA runs out of Yuengling on a Friday night. In fact, several things that the table attempted to order were not available (this was, of course, only stated during ordering). The bathroom (which is gnarly) is across the brightly-lit hall in the Ritz theater. When I went over there, two red-faced college kids were intensely, passionately making out in the bathroom doorway. A weird thing to sneak around when you're just trying to have a pee break during dinner.Ultimately Noir feels like it's pandering instead of creating an authentic experience, a place that feels cheapened by bad management and an inability to commit to the bit. It's like if the owners blew their budget on discount Hot Topic chachkis instead of investing in a delicious and sinful atmosphere with good food, good service, and good drinks.

First off the first location of this place was way better than the new location. We loved the small quietness of the previous place and we both felt like there was way more to look at last time..I don't know if they were still seeing up this new location but it felt brighter and less interesting...Arrived for our date and waited at the front door a few minutes before someone noticed us to seat us. Got seated then the waiter came over, last time I got a Delicious drink tried to explain the drink to him and he suggested something that was not what I was explaining but that's not his fault. The drink was yuck...Then the music changed, got very not emo goth and idk the whole vibe was different..we didn't even get asked if we would like dessert... The waiter seemed very distracted for it not being very crowded... Hopefully they were still just seeing up and things change. The first visit we had back on July first 2023 was so much better than last night. The only thing we found to be cool was the booths but they even seemed like unfinished, like they could have put stuff on the little shelves in the booths or idk ... Just wasn't what we were looking forward to unfortunately.
