This was our first visit to Sambuca, but it won't be our last. Terrific menu, great nightly specials as well. Our server, Melissa, was friendly attentive and helpful in selecting our courses. We also very much enjoyed Paul, Sambuca's famous piano player. He topped off a wonderful night out!
Last night we had the absolute joy of celebrating my mom’s birthday at Sambuca, and from the moment we walked through the doors, the experience was nothing short of incredible. We were immediately greeted with warmth and genuine kindness that set the tone for the entire evening. The ambiance alone is stunning—inviting, lively, and full of energy.
The staff was truly exceptional. Our waitress, Melissa, went above and beyond in every possible way. She was not only incredibly kind and attentive, but she made us feel completely comfortable and cared for all night long. On top of that, Michelle and Diaz were just as amazing—checking in on us before we even had a chance to ask for anything. The level of teamwork and attentiveness was outstanding.
Despite the restaurant being packed, we never waited for a thing. We honestly felt like VIPs—like we were the only table in the room. That kind of service is rare and so appreciated.
And the cherry on top? We had the best seat in the house, right next to the piano player, Paul—and wow, can that man play! He absolutely lit up the room, graciously took a request from my dad, and even played Happy Birthday for my mom. It was such a special, unforgettable moment.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Sambuca, Melissa, Michelle, Diaz, and Paul for creating such a magical night. This was an experience we’ll never forget, and we cannot wait to come back again!

Excellent, husband said he thinks it was the best meal we've had since moving to the area 5 years ago. All the food was served very hot. Service was fabulous. Owner was in site offering assistance to make sure our experience was flawless. We were there on a busy Broadway night. The f I had to say anything negative it would be that the menu font is small and not boldly printed. Lighting is dim but comfortable. Had to use flashlight on my phone to read the menu, and we noticed other tables doing the same. Would highly recommend.
Our meals were delicious! Services impeccable!! Our music man I'm in love with!! A beautiful experience and will return!
My favorite spot in Scranton! NYC vibe in downtown Scranton, and cannot beat the food and service!!
Food was outstanding, pollo sambucca was the best I ever had. Service was excellent as well. Wasn't impressed with the espresso martini, was not fresh espresso, tasted like it came out of a bottle. Otherwise everything was great
We had the burrata appetizer. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly- my husband had the veal which was fantastic! Michelle , our waitress , was friendly and personable. Ambience was perfect . Service was great . All in all , a must go to !
everything was great, food and service. The only draw back was the 3 very loud women across from us, we heard every word of every conversation.

I called @7:30 pm on a Friday to place a pick up order. I was told I couldn’t place a take out order because they were too busy. Alright then.. guess they couldn’t handle 2 pasta orders. Disappointing because I heard they were good, not going to be a customer in the future.

Beautiful dining experience, to talk with your people, without being bothered by staff unless it is needed. We love eating there.
I never like to write a review , on this one it might help them to be better. My husband called for resvations . He spoke to someone asked if you could get a table for 2 , they said yes told us the time. When we got there there was a very unplensent woman as a hostess. Insisting that we put down we wanted to sit at the bar. She then had I guess the owner come ove that continued to say we put down at the bar. Ps the bar had not one spot. Well I said do you have a table very nicely. He came back said about 10 min. He got us a table you can see they are under staffed . It took a long time to get us bread. Which was cold national bakery rolls. We ordered . Chicken cutlet was very tender sauce was good. The chicken Marsala ws. Think brown gravy with hardly any Marsala wine in it. It was chicken the brown gravy. Please unstand I have work and still work customer service . I do not make people feel this way when they come in . Sorry 👎👎2 thumbs down. Feel bad cause you can see the owner tryin hard to please .
My first time here. The food was excellent. Even though they didn't have a Mocktail menu, the bartender made one on the fly! Highly recommend!

Love visiting here always great service and romantic little ambiance. We had a sausage pasta special and chicken piccata this time and the chicken piccata may have been the best we've ever tried and the pasta dish was so yummy and flavorful, I didn't want it to end! Thank you for having us, we will be back!
