So, this is gonna be a strange review. Had to drive to Scranton on two consecutive days. Decided to visit this small joint that came up on my search as the nearest location with good reviews. From the outside this place is perfect. Small, divey and lots of nostalgia. Inside, there were regulars galore, and I think the owner even stopped in to check the mail. Day one: My waitress was a nice, blonde woman who wore a smile and kept the coffee flowing. There was a guy at the grill which one can see from anywhere in the joint. He wore gloves while he cooked and seemed to have command of his part in the whole show. Things looked neat and clean, which is always a plus. Remember, dive doesn't mean dirty. My order came out quickly and without issue. The food was hot and everything it should have been. The coffee was the same. Only one issue came up on day one. The bathroom door would not lock as I found out when I opened it on an unsuspecting female, who by the way was using the men's room. The nerve. So, I go in, close and lock the door and guess what happens. The next guy opens the door on me. Jeez, ain't nobody heard of knocking. So, when I go to pay the bill, I simply tell the nice waitress that the lock on the men's room door may need to be looked at. She smiles and says she's on it. Day two: I'm back but my smiley waitress isn't there. The guy at the grill is now a woman, who isn't wearing gloves. And the waitress is a bit slower on the take, but sufficient enough. My order is simple, and the coffee starts dripping in my cup. As I'm waiting for my meal, I notice that things at the grill are not as efficient as they were on day one. Also, the lack of gloves in an open type of kitchen should be mandatory even for the dive. The food did eventually get to the table, and it was good in all the same ways as day 1. But you know what got me? The darn bathroom door was still unlockable. All in all, I really give this place 3 1/2 stars but it wouldn't allow me to give half a star, so there ya go. Thanks Sharon.

went to this place based on the pictures and was extremely disappointed. went in and was told to sit anywhere .. the only table empty had dirty napkins, utensils, and half drank coffee and water cup. when i tried saying something about the table needing to be cleaned i was ignored and judged by everyone in the restaurant and im not one to make a scene but as someone who’s worked in the food industry, having your customers sit at a dirty table is unacceptable. service 0/10. the atmosphere just felt so bad and everyone was whispering and staring at my partner and i. overall a horrible experience we didn’t even stay to eat as we waited forever and the table still wasn’t cleaned.

Wow! Everything at this location was spectacular. We came in close to closing time but they still coerced us in to eat. Cash only. ATM inside. The food was amazing! Don’t let the pictures fool you-everything was fresh and cooked to order and had the home style taste to it. It made me feel like I was at home and being taken care of. The service was spectacular. Then! They had dessert from local bakery and it was delicious! This is absolutely a hidden eatery gem. Thank you for the great service.

“Just Eat What You are Given” We arrived 20 minutes after open, reviewed the menu and ordered French Toast. However, they were out of French Toast? The batter was already gone in the first 20 minutes. Isn’t french toast batter just eggs, milk and maybe some sugar? So we opted for an “everything” bagel. We watched the waitress pull out a bag of store bought bagels, noticed something wrong and threw them away. She instead made a “regular” bagel for us without explanation. So we got a plain bagel with no explanation or apology. We also ordered a basic egg scramble and it arrived quite late. It tasted ok. They cook everything in front of you here and the place was about 30% full. The cook just was taking her time and was in the back of the store. Not their best day I am guessing. I was hoping for much better!

This is a great little old-school diner with counter seating and delicious homemade food cooked right in front of you. They have gigantic fluffy pancakes.

Do not go here if you are hungry. We stopped by this place for a late breakfast. We were visiting the area and saw it had good reviews. When we walked in it was packed and a little overwhelming but you could tell it obviously is a place liked by locals and it must be good. Unfortunately we will never know how the food was. We are understanding of places being busy and patient but have to draw a line somewhere. There were multiple tables waiting for food. Some who were there before us, and a couple after. What made us finally get up and leave (after waiting an hour) is a table that had sat wellllll AFTER everyone - they got their food. It was a four top and one of the people were eating exactly what I ordered. My husband had ordered a ham and egg sandwich and I ordered two over easy eggs with white toast and corned beef hash. An hour was a long time to wait for this but to make the mistake of serving people who came in long after us, that was just unacceptable, especially the same food. I wish I had read recent reviews before wasting our time. Best of luck. Hopefully the other tables who came in shortly after us eventually got their breakfast.
