16th Ward was one of the few places open late on a Sunday as my wife and I were driving home from a long trip. We received absolutely amazing service, great drinks, and phenomenal food! Every aspect of our time at 16 Ward was top-notch! Having just had two disappointing dinners the past two nights at two highly acclaimed restaurants in the Fingers Lakes, 16th Ward was not a planned stop but was an amazing discovery! We will be back many more times! It was not until I went to write a review (something I rarely ever do), that I realized that our amazing host/server was the owner. He could not have been nicer! Amazing experience and priced well below what many of us often pay for much lower quality food, drinks, and service. Thank you!

Nice cozy vibe. Spinach artichoke and BLT pizza were great! Staff was very friendly. Great cocktail menu. Highly recommend the Black Manhattan!

Was in town for Reapers Revenge (it's worth the visit! Btw) and we were looking for places to grab dinner. Would encourage making reservations but they squeezed us in outside. The draft list is IMPRESSIVE and diverse, Hill farmstead and multiple imported Belgian beers. It was such a relief to see something other than IPAs. I got the Russian dumplings which are filling and although listed as an app they were filling and served perfectly as my entree. My husband got a burger which was unfortunately a little under seasoned but they were VERY busy. Very affordable, beautiful inside decor and seems like a great place for happy hour, dates etc

Came here on a Friday with my best friend. We did not make a reservation, as we were in the downtown area for a show, and it wasn’t a busy time (5pm). We walked in to the hostess who didn’t greet us, but looked us up and down awkwardly. She(?) proceeded to ask if we had reservations and we stated we did not. She then asked a second time- “no reservation?” And walked us to a table proceeding to state “you have a two hour window”. I understand her point- however there were only two other parties seated at the time and her demeanor was anything but polite. If you’re running a business you should be at least professional . A TOTAL turn off. The food was just as good as anywhere else in the area and not worth the stuffy attitude. We’re in Scranton, not Manhattan. Do yourself a favor and go next door to AV. I won’t return and hope the message is relayed to the older individual working the hostess stand, who was more concerned with her cell phone than her customer service skills.

The food was just okay. The charcuterie “board” was served on a basic white dish. The cheese was four blocks of white cheddars, which weren’t described when ordered. It was messy. When asking the brand of cider listed on the menu as “cider”, our waitress pointed at the chalk board hung near the ceiling to the right of our table. Trough the duration of our meal, we had about 4 different waiters. It was hard to determine who to tip at the end of the evening. Even though we tipped over 20% I feel it was not worth it.

We made a reservation for our small bachelor party not knowing exactly what to expect, but we were all blown away by what The 16th Ward had to offer. The service set the bar quickly by explaining how the work as a team to cover tables, walking us through the menu, and giving us suggestions of what to try.

The drink options were truly impressive. We liked their system of rotating beers, but the selection we had on our night was perfect to impress the beer drinkers in our group. Plus, they let you try anything before committing. Personally, I stuck with the house cocktails which hit every note they described and left me excited to try the next one.

Then the food was perfect. We started with dumplings and perogies which were fresh and flavorful. Most of us ordered entrees that we loved, and then we got to split some pizza that made us wish we had room for more.

Although I'm not often in the Scranton area these days, if I'm ever back I will make it a point to come back to this restaurant. Thank you for a great night!

Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian dishes, but the vegetarian in our group definitely seemed a little disappointed in the variety (mostly pizzas). The quality of the food was still great.

Minimal items on menu. Food came, didn't see waiter again until time for check. Waited 15 mins for check, had to ask bartender... Waiter just vanished. Burger ordered Medium, came Well done. Only four tables occupied, not busy but no parking. Other reviews for this place seem like written by AI... just too elaborate and over the top to be written by average people.

RUN here to have what was one of the most surprisingly delightful meals. We sat outside as we had our dog- but the interior gives off a warm speakeasy vibe which can range from cozy date night to memorable group dinner. We were BLOWN away by the level of service from the staff. So many came to talk to us and the beer knowledge was impeccable. When we honed in on a beer they just automatically brought a sample and you could tell this place really loved their products and informing guests about them. The cocktails also looked great but we didn’t partake. I love the rotating beer concept. You’re always going to find one curated (bespoke) version of 20 beer styles. Love a Belgian Quad (we do) - you’re ALWAYS going to find one! On to food. We had a great soft pretzel, one of the pizzas and a salad to share. Lots to choose from here but we kept it simple (and vegetarian). The pizza is wood fired- great crunchy crust. Salad was fresh and on point. The menu rotates (think farm to table) so I won’t dwell on what I had but instead URGE you to go try this for yourselves. I’m thinking Scranton might be a regular place to overnight for a weekend getaway with this gem here. I would drive here again simply to come here. (For reference I’m about 4 hours away). Oh and I forgot to add the dessert was the perfect light bite to end this gem of a meal.

I rarely ever write reviews. But I couldn't hold myself back from writing a review about the 16th Ward! My husband, son, and I came in from Long Island for a camp visiting day. We were searching for places to eat dinner. Stumbled upon The 16th Ward. Went in and made a reservation for the next night (which they moved some things around to accommodate us).

This was one of the best dinners I have ever had! And I lived and/or have been working in NYC for 25 years (and have been to some amazing restaurants in those years). The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are all top notch! The atmosphere and staff have a very "Brooklyn vibe". They need to bring this restaurant to NYC! Highly recommend!
