Good food and good drinks. Made a reservation a few hours before hand. Demetri took good care of us and made some recommendations.

What a delicious surprise. From the over 18 beers on tap to the delicious pizza. This spot has excellent food, service, and ambiance.

The patio allows pups too. Win/win for a wonderful evening. And yes - get the pizza and the dumplings.

Just went here for a date night with my husband. Not our first time, and it's always fantastic. Amazing drink selection, excellent food (you have to try the dumplings!) and such a cool place. Definitely worth it, and if you're going at a busy time, make sure you make a reservation! We've gotten lucky and gotten a table when it's been busy, but we don't want that luck to run out! We'll definitely be back again.

We were visiting downtown Scranton and wanted to grab a bite and drinks. Both were great! Highly recommended the 16th Ward. The mussels and calamari were delicious, and the cucumber jalapeño margarita was the best I've ever had!

What a (mostly) wonderful experience I had during my first visit to The 16th Ward! The food – from start to finish – was quite excellent. It was definitely a five star experience, particularly for the Scranton finer dining scene. The service – although it could’ve been a tiny bit more attentive – was very pleasant. I gave the servers a bit of a pass here, considering that the place was a little busy for the rather small staff. The very young food runners could have been a little better-trained and more polished, but this was mostly more amusing than annoying.

Really, the only thing that marred this utterly pleasant experience was the absolutely heinous attitude of the hostess – a young and aloof blonde woman whose glum expression was eclipsed only by the inhospitality that practically oozed from her well-disguised pores. I can’t remember ever having been greeted so unpleasantly at a dining establishment, even in NYC, where I’ve spent most of my adult life. As she watched my party depart – having seemingly no work to do in that moment – she could barely be bothered to look up from her phone as we each wished her a “good evening” upon passing her hostess’ stand.

I was quite reminded of a wonderful scene from the 90s British comedy “Absolutely Fabulous”, where a similarly snooty receptionist at an art gallery displays equally inappropriate behavior for her station. The main character – a wealthy client – hoping to procure some art, says to her in passing, “You only work in a shop, you know.” Indeed.

I expect to return to this lovely establishment many times in the future, considering that it’s so conveniently located within the beating heart of Scranton’s slowly-revitalizing downtown district. But I certainly do hope that the next time I’m there, she is not. Or that she at least behaves in a way that is more consonant with the otherwise lovely vibe and easygoing hospitality of this delightful and refined establishment.

I wouldn’t have thought to find such a fantastic place in Scranton, PA. The atmosphere is cozy, drinks are fantastic and unique, and the food! The dumplings were great, reminded me of dim sum dishes. We also had the Hungarian pepperoni pizza which was delicious and greasy and just a perfect companion for drinks. Service was fast and the bartenders are knowledgeable. The Texas Sun cocktail was so good I would love to try and replicate it at home.

Holy sweet lord - do people know about this place? If I had a magic wand and could make a perfect restaurant, it would be a copy + paste of The 16th Ward. Un-freakin-believable. 10/10, will recommend.

From the moment we entered this place I knew it was something special. Very speakeasy type vibes. The entire staff and especially the owner were absolutely incredible. The drinks, the food, the mood was super. I haven’t had an experience like this in a long time. This place will definitely be on my short list of go to spots. I feel like you can order anything on the menu and you will be supremely happy. I know I will be. Top notch.

16th Ward was one of the few places open late on a Sunday as my wife and I were driving home from a long trip. We received absolutely amazing service, great drinks, and phenomenal food! Every aspect of our time at 16 Ward was top-notch! Having just had two disappointing dinners the past two nights at two highly acclaimed restaurants in the Fingers Lakes, 16th Ward was not a planned stop but was an amazing discovery! We will be back many more times! It was not until I went to write a review (something I rarely ever do), that I realized that our amazing host/server was the owner. He could not have been nicer! Amazing experience and priced well below what many of us often pay for much lower quality food, drinks, and service. Thank you!

I very rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserves it. The drinks and food were great, but the service and atmosphere were amazing. The style screams class. Highly recommend!
