Nothing at all like all the reviews that we read here. It has a very strong smell of cleaner and I don't even know what else. But if you have a sensitive nose, do not venture here! Also, I ordered a wrap and it came nothing the way it was described in the menu and I was told that the menu changed so I sent it back and got nothing. However, my husband's hamburger was fine and the fries were good.

Terrible service. Think it is 1950. They have the bar tender working the bar and waiting tables and serving them. No other workers. May as well expect 3 hours for a sandwich. Would not recommend. Never even tried to the food. Waited an hour for service and left.

Love 1905 Tavern! Our new favorite place for wings!
Stopped in last night we had the pizza and we also had the hot garlic wings and the hot honey chipotle wings! All were delicious! Definitely recommend this place! We will be back!!

Two of my friends brought me takeout from The 1905 a couple weeks ago when I was working late and nobody’s kitchen would be open when I got out. Even after traveling across Scranton, the food I ordered was outstanding! I can’t wait to be able to go eat there and experience it fresh.

One night, my husband and I were trying to figure out where to get pizza, and he suggested 1905. I wasn’t sure at first, but wow—I’m so glad we went with it. I’m a vegetarian, but I love hot wing pizza (just hold the chicken—lol), and theirs totally blew me away. From that first slice, I was hooked.
We’ve tried so many different things from the menu since then and honestly, it’s all been amazing. Everything is super flavorful and always hits the spot. You can tell the owner really cares about the place and takes pride in what he’s putting out there.
1905 is hands-down our go-to now. Every single time—10/10.

Cruising home from a road trip to the Hudson Valley, we had to swing by The 1905 Tavern since it's not super close to us, but I've seen it mentioned on almost everyone's list of must-try places. Maybe it was the nostalgia of a couples weekend together (blended family, five kids)... or maybe it was Maggie, who greeted us with a bubbly smile and great product knowledge.
I thought Maggie had long been the face behind the bar here, with the way she explained all the items and the passionate appreciation for what they're pumping out of the kitchen; she has just started working there... It must be a very near and dear place to her; but that's easy to get behind when you work with good people, and use fresh, high-quality ingredients with homemade traditions and recipes.
Ok, now the pizza. Great crunch to the crust, and nowhere near as heavy as some of our Sicilian favorites in the Wyoming Valley or Back Mountain. I guess it's considered Old Forge style, but that's a rabbit hole for another day. The cheese was a unique and tasty blend that I couldn't put my finger on, but was a little different than most I've tried before. And when you reheat it, tastes like a giant toasted Cheez-It... That really hit the spot the next day.
Oh, and amazing cappalletti soup (like Grandma's) and some of the best bites I've ever had, not pictured... Not overly breaded or fried, chunky and meaty, and lots of interesting sauces and rubs to choose from.

I ordered take from here for the first time yesterday (boneless wings and pizza). The pizza was delicious and the wingbites were some of the best I've ever had. We enjoyed them so much that we ordered again tonight!
Good food and drinks. This locals place had one server that was very busy so couldn't be very attentive.
