The Birria 10 tacos for $30 was actually a great deal! Three of these tacos and I was full! Surprising, because I typically can eat a LOT of tacos. I had just made these at home a few days earlier, and they were good enough here to have every night of the week! If I lived closer, that would be tempting :). Highly recommend! Most authentic place we have found around and we loved here from Houston!!

This place is my go-to comfort food. I swing in after work for an early dinner (plus leftovers) or pick up a to-go order. Love the fajitas and enchiladas verde. I recommend ordering the steak or combo-steak options - very nicely cooked and not a cheap cut. BYOB is very nice, too, but also like getting bottled Coke there. Love their chicken tortilla soup (especially to bring home) and mofongo.Parking: More parking along the side and behind the building.Kid-friendliness: Nothing to break, roomy tables, handy restroom.
Excellent place. My wife and I recommend. The salsa/chips were fresh, tasty, and gratis. I had the standard chicken fajitas, which were better than most places. She had the green tamales, which were excellent. All the sides were above average as well.

Absolutely amazing dinner. We ate at lunch time. Both my beautiful date and myself had the molcajete bowl.I'm part Mexican from So-Cali. This was outstanding. It isn't the same old tex-mex style stuff that is passed off as Mexican food. If you ask for spicy, it'll be spicy.

Amazing restaurant, employees, and food. I have been going to La Cocina Del Don since my first year of college. I recently had them cater for an event of 100 people and they did NOT disappoint. They delivered everything to our car and even let us use this container that kept the meat hot. It was ready when we arrived and every employee was very helpful. The portions were huge and everything tasted amazing. I highly recommend them for dining in, catering, take out, anything. Truly one of my favorite small businesses.

Ate here last night and really enjoyed it. We had tilapia tacos, and chicken casadia. We got ours to go, but the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and probably around 7, or 8 tables. We'll be back for sure!

What a great little spot. We enjoyed a really nice lunch. The server was very nice, but not overly attentive. We enjoyed some chorizo and queso and chips. It was ooey and gooey cheese with chorizo throughout. A yummy start to the meal. My only complaint was that we were not given napkins, a side plate, or silverware until our entrees arrived. The enchiladas with mole were tasty. I so think the mole needed a little more time to cook. The buffalo chicken burrito was huge and enjoyed. The birria tacos were delish! The tasty dipping sauce was to die for!!! We will definitely visit again!

I like the loud Spanish music playing in the background and on the tv. Food is solid and seems to be one of the busier restaurants in a 20 mile radius.If you happen to be around would recommend anything off the menu except the chicken flautas because it's pretty dry.

We thought the food was OK. The fresh guacamole was excellent. Salsa was also quite good. For our platters, we had a buffalo burrito, a taco platter, and a chimi-flauta. The individual eating the burrito had high ratings. Just the right amount of spice and sauce. Chicken inside was tasty. However, the other two said it was just… OK. Nothing was horrible but just could have been a bit more flavorful and fresh. The flauta was quite oily, and the tacos were not that inspiring. Both had chicken that was drier than we expected. Tacos had too many onions and not enough other items, but that's probably just my own preference. However, the service was great. Very kind waitress. My guess is we went at a very slow time on an early Sunday afternoon. It was promising enough to want to head back again sometime. I'd recommend to anyone looking for some local Mexican to give it a try.

The food here is really good. I was pleasantly surprised. I got what the waitress recommended, basically Mexican pot roast tacos.... they were delicious.The waitress was friendly and helpful, it's a tiny place with a tiny budget and the dining room isn't particularly welcoming...But that shouldn't stop you from going. The food is great and if you buy more they can upgrade the dining room.So go here, eat the yummy food and help them grow.

We really what high hopes for this place based off their pictures, but we were sadly mistaken! The food did not look anything like what they show online, it had very very minimal flavor, their queso is gross! 1 waitress couldn’t keep up and the other girl trying to help had no idea how to do anything. We definitely will not be back.
