do NOT order delivery from here. took over 2 hours to be delivered a mile away. I called and asked if the food would still be fresh was told if I wanted fresh dont order delivery. no worries i wont!

We have never had sushi 🍣 and decided to visit the Slippery Mermaid to try some out. It was very good! The waitress did an excellent job with her suggestions and describing what was what. We found out later she was new and we were her second customer! We will definitely be back! 🍣 🥢

Food took 2.5 hrs to be delivered. Salmon sashimi was half the size as normal and paper thin. The new wave tuna was so salty couldn’t eat it. Definitely not worth the price they charged. It has become more and more inconsistent as to what you will get when you order from there. Have ordered from there 6-8 times probably our last. Disappointing.

Took my family to dinner as a local 1.5 hours before closing to be told we couldn’t be seated for multiple different reasons. One person said they “might” not have enough fish. Another person said the wait was too long (2 parties there waiting) and then the owner came after the hostess said let her just talk to a manager even though I told her it wasn’t necessary. Owner came over cussing and hollering and telling me I don’t know business. I hold 3 business degrees. I am a combat local veteran and to be treated like that means I’ll never come back I’ll never bring my friends or family again. I’ll tell all my clients not to go there and removing it from all my airbnb welcome books. To be cussed at and told I don’t know business all because the host insisted on checking with management because clearly sometimes they still sit people, was just wild. That owner needs someone to actually teach her about business. You may be busy now, but you definitely need the locals in off-season.

The Slippery Mermaid is by far the best sushi I have ever had. This is one of our must have places to go to when we visit Navarre. The service is always top notch, the food is perfection and the atmosphere is so lovely and inviting.

Okay Sushi for being in Pittsburgh, but they stop orders after 8pm. and close their doors at 9pm. Even on a weekends. Just because of that I'm not recommending.

Service perfect.
Food is ehhhhhh nothing to write home about. Not impressed. Everything has cream cheese . Food is definitely not for a sushi guru. Will not be back . Not and done. No tofu in soup which was no big deal....however why is the soup sooo salty. No thanks .

i’ve given this place the benefit of the doubt every time i go, but this last time has really made me rethink coming back. i ordered my normal roll i get every time that has eel sauce, and also ordered extra on the side like i always do. but once i got my order i went to go pour the “eel sauce” over my sushi and immediately noticed a color and consistency difference. i tasted the sauce and realized i just slathered my rolls in teriyaki sauce. i called over the waiter and told her i actually got teriyaki and now my sushi is covered. she immediately responded that it’s the same thing, and i said they are definitely not the same and are two very different sauces. she then claimed that they’ve always used teriyaki sauce in substitution of eel sauce and they’ve never actually had eel sauce. this blew me away because 1, i’ve ordered eel sauce here before and it was real eel sauce so i definitely don’t think they’ve always subbed them for each other, but also because that is a major allergy risk. eel sauce is a 3 ingredient sauce, while teriyaki has 8-10 ingredients. what if someone ordered something with eel sauce and they had an allergy to ginger? luckily i’m not but to say i was disappointed with my then teriyaki slathered rolls was an understatement. she did offer to get me something else but i honestly didn’t have anything else there i was interested in, i only ever got the same roll every time. i still paid full price and tipped, but i honestly really don’t think i’ll be returning any time soon.

This was our first visit which came highly regarded by my brother and his wife. No one answered the phone when we called to reserve, so we went on a limb that they were open and had room. Once we got there, we were seated pretty quickly for the size of our group and placed our orders in a reasonable timeframe. The waitress was kind and prompt. She did miss one of my items which she cordially comped on the bill. The food was awesome! The only gripe was that it took quite awhile from time of order to presentation. Everything else was lovely. Recommended.

Our sushi was mediocre. As a relatively frequent slippery mermaid customer I hate to say this was the worst of all the times I've gone here.

The service was good but could have been better. Our waitress was nice but was away from our table for just a little too long. However, we got an extra serving of edamame which was quite nice.

And just a complaint coming from an electrician, there is something electrically wrong with the place. The lights kept flickering off randomly which was annoying while trying to eat.
