Grilled Vegetables are so good! My husband and I both agreed Talia is a fantastic server/cashier, she's upbeat and efficient, personality made our visit so great. A friendly server can make or break your dining experience, she MAKES IT!
Paid a good amount for brisket that did not even appear to be fully cooked. I’ve smoked brisket a long time and this was nothing but dissapointment. Im fine with moist or lean but this was not done and had barely a smoke ring. Will not come back after I asked the server if this was normal and he replied it was. Sad
Super disappointed in the service we received yesterday, Sunday Dec. 22, 2024. We ordered one pound of pulled chicken and two pounds of pulled pork, to go, as we planned on serving this to family visiting for the holiday. Once we got home and took the items out of the bag, we immediately noticed that the pulled pork was in a larger container, but appeared to be barely filled half way, and side by side with the pulled chicken, it absolutely did not look like double. So we got out our scale and weighed them: the pulled chicken weighed 15oz. One ounce shy of the pound we paid for, but no big deal. the pulled pork however only weighed 19oz. that is 13 ounces short of what we paid for... literally ridiculous! So we called in to Skeeters at 2:18pm and spoke to a 'manager' (and I use that word lightly, because no manager I've ever dealt with in my life spoke the way this person did) This manager argued with us saying that he specifically watched them weigh our order and he knows for a fact that our pulled pork weighed 2lbs. When we told him we weighed it ourselves, didn't even open the lid, just put it right on the scale, and it was just barely over 1lb, he was very short and rude to us and wouldn't even listen to what we were saying. As someone who has worked in customer service, and specifically in restaurants, for many years, the way we were treated is absolutely horrible. We were very polite on the phone and we only either wanted the pound of pulled pork that we paid for - but didn't get- refunded to our card, or that we could come and pick up the pound of pulled pork that we were missing. This manager did nothing for us and insulted us. We will never return to Skeeters and are very saddened by the way we were treated. **I have pictures of the chicken and pulled pork on the scale to show the weights... and also a pic of the 5 minute call to Skeeters at 2:18pm on 12/22/24**
Service is great and the atmosphere is very nice and clean. I’ve stopped by here a total of 3 times now. The brisket was a little on the dry side all 3 times. Not much fat or flavor. Tasted more like a roast beef. The bbq sauce wasn’t my favorite. The sides were good and the corn bread was warm and moist. It was just okay for me as far as the food goes.

It's not bad, just too corporate. No soul and no greens (as in collard). Brisket is tender and to s come off the bone but are bland their sauce is a vinegar base that may turn people off. Corn muffins instead of corn bread, which is a negative in my book. Come slaw was good but their beans leave a lot to be desired. Nice view of the Susquehanna river.

Appreciated the recommendation by the counter person to get the brisket. Most tender I’ve ever had.
Ribs and bbq sauce were perfect. The little corn muffin was a nice touch. The slaw and beans rounded out the pick 2 combo. The chicken corn soup is broth based and was quite yummy.
Food came out pretty quickly.

This is great find! It’s a really nice BBQ place on top of a hill so it comes with a great view of the river while you eat. The food is delicious and is reasonably priced. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! I would definitely return when in the area!

Love Skeeters. It's become one of our favorite local restaurants. Cool to discover the BOGO wings on Wednesdays.

I had lunch here with family while visiting the area, and while the food was good, this place is remarkable for its view over the river. The view is incredible.

So, I like BBQ.
Ribs and brisket, gimme more, but a pulled pork sandwich is the ultimate test of a pit master’s ability and skills, you gotta love love what you do to make a good pulled pork sandwich. Meat all smoky and spicy and moist, piled high on a bun, dripping with sauce, heck yeah! Or no sauce, I’m no purist, you do you.
I pass Skeeters “Pit” BBQ at least half a dozen times a year, doing so for a decade now, never the right timing to stop and have a sandwich until last week.
First thing you do at a BBQ joint is seek out the smell from the smoker, work that nose a little, but at Skeeters there’s no smoke. You call yourself a “Pit” BBQ but you don’t smoke the meat? How the feck does that work??!? Oh, you have an oven??? Please…
Second thing you do at a BBQ joint is pull the bun top off your sandwich and find a burnt end (if you’re lucky), that’s the best of the best, an explosion of spice and smoke and flavor and crspiness. Hell, some places will sell you a platter of nothing but burnt ends, that’s how good it is. Let’s be clear: Skeeters sells roast pork. On a bun. And a pretty bland roast pork at that. A browned end was what I got, no spice, no smoke, no crisp, plenty of boring.
But reasonably moist if ultimately boring meat can at least be a vehicle for your sauces. I went to a place on the Eastern Shore where they set a rack of 8 different bottles of homemade sauce on the table, 2 I didn’t like the sound of and wouldn’t try, 4 were fine, 2 of them forced me to buy another damn $12 sandwich, you bastards! Now that’s good sauce! Skeeters has one sauce. And there was nothing special about it. Special? Hell, I’d have settles for it being pretty good, but it was nothing. Like oatmeal kind of boring. I would be surprised if they make it in house, it’s just a pedestrian sauce.
Honestly, I probably shouldn’t hold a Pennsylvania BBQ joint to a very high standard, it is Pennsylvania after all, not North Carolina, or Tennessee, but if you sell a product, you should make it the very best you can, and I don’t see that Skeeter put much effort into his food. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good enough to ever want to go back.

The amount off food was great but my only complaint is that the food was cold and taste was average service and ambience was fabulous.
Highly recommend the onion rings
