We came at peak time on a Saturday night, and were told our wait could be a half hour. Fortunately, we got seated in 10 minutes. The place is pretty large, so they have pretty ample seating. Our service was outstanding. Our server was Kyle, and he did a great job at making sure we a great dining experience. They have a great beer list (coming from a beer aficionado), and the menu had options for everyone in our family, including a vegan. Great place for a family meal and/or to catch a game!

The meatball sandwich I ordered was supposed to be on a hoagie roll but instead looked like thick slices of white bread. Mooshy. Too bad bec the meatballs sauce and cheese were perfect. I was so hungry so I ate half of it. I complained about the bread and the waitress said she could make something else for me but would charge me for half the soggy meatball sandwich. I was charged for the new sandwich. Wow. Usually when they offer to make something else it's comped but not here. Ana the manager was obtuse. I've had sandwiches at the downtown location and they used genuine hoagie rolls and genuine baguettes. The customer is never right here. What a horrible experience. Never going there again.

Richard was our server and he was very friendly and welcoming! It is New Years Eve and we were waiting for family to join us at the street festival-First Night. We each enjoyed a local beer that Richard recommended and the nachos. It was a wonderful experience!

A group of 10 of us came in for dinner on Saturday night. The food was below average, and the service was terrible. The restaurant had more staff than guests, but they were all standing around chatting with each other instead of working. Will not go back.

I've been a customer of Champs since it opened back in the 1980s. Its still the best experience if you want great food and lots of it. Large portion size, many dishes and sandwiches are unique to Champs, They also offer a fantastic choice of "Special Teams" Sandwiches if you do not want a fancy Fine Food experience. Champs has a casual atmosphere, but their menu is large with a lot of varieties, Excellent Italian food, as well as GREAT Steaks that will surprise you! Champs has numerous Flat Screen TV; all around the establishment if you want to watch Sports. They also have a pillar of smaller screens before the large main bar in the main room with just about any sports program you want to see. Champs also has :Lou's Stick room on the ground floor to shoot pool, and a Walk-in Cigar Humidor and separate lounge for Premium Cigars. Champs offers a great selection of fine cigars at fair prices that are worth checking into. Food can be ordered at the down stairs bar, and there are tables to sit and eat if you are not there to shoot pool or smoke a Cigar. Several Flat Screen TV's in Lou's Stick Room too! Champs has it all,

I guess this is supposed to be the best college / sports bar in State College. I did like the abundance of TVs and lots and lots of beer choices. And servers were nice. I did not like that we had to pay $10 per person cover charge at like 6p on Friday. I am in my 50s so I was not a fan of the music - which was thumping House / EDM music even at dinner time. We had to scream at each other to have conversation. I could get that if it was 9pm but not at prime dinner time. Then about 8:30p or so they really cranked it up. Really huge place. Really really crowded so hard to move around as night continued. Again, I get that it was big weekend but felt way too packed. Not a huge fan - unless you are college person.

A party of 4 adults visited on Saturday. August 21, 2021. Two ordered the Chiefs vs. Panthers sandwich. One was fine, the other was 3/4 fat. We mentioned twice to our server, but nothing was done about it. Only an 'that's unappetizing. I'm sorry'. Really? No replacement sandwich, no compensation? I reached out twice via Facebook without a reply back from them. I guess, it's a one and done.

Champs came recommended by some friends, and it didn’t disappoint! I ordered the taco salad. It was delicious and massive; I couldn’t eat it all. We also ordered the chicken cheesesteak and a cheese pizza. There were no complaints and we had good service.

There is nothing fancy here, but Champs embraces exactly what it is - a straight-up sports bar! Very strong selection of bees, lots of sports on TV, and excellent service (thanks Michelle!). Do not come here for a gourmet meal, but come for the perogies!

The restaurant has free parking. The restaurant is located upstairs. It is a typical sports bar with full bar service and televisions above the bar. I received good service and my Cobb salad was great. COVID-19: Most of the employees were masked. Customers were supposed to be masked when away from their tables, but there was not much enforcement. There were panels to separate groups at the bar, but otherwise there was not a very good attempt at social distancing.

First meal at Champs in over a year, and we are glad to be back. A late lunch of delicious salads (blackened salmon and chicken Caesar) and a flight of great beers. Was always our go to place before Covid, and now, will be again.

Just off the main drag, this noisy sports bar sits, creating expectations of greasy food and poor service. What a surprise then to find delicious food, often with a Cajun flare, and attentive service. Yes, it’s noisy, but the extensive menu and creative cocktails more than reward the intrepid visitor!

My daughter likes Champs so we ordered take-out during the pandemic. Went to pick up our food and was pleased to see that EVERYBODY was wearing a mask except when they were eating. Dinners were seated quite a distance apart. athe food was good and what you'd expect from a pub/sports bar.

We enjoyed an outside summer meal at Champs. Because we were travelling and had our dog, we struggled to find a place to eat. Champs allowed dogs at the lower patio seating. This is definitely not the most picturesque of dining areas, but we were able to have our dog with us, and dine outside. The food was overall good. The wings were meaty and enjoyable. The bruschetta was a "make your own", which was unique, and pulled off nicely. The blue cheese dressing for salads was a bit watery, which was probably our biggest food complaint. Our server was very quick, and this overall was a good stop...especially with the canine in tow.
