I had a small birthday party for my mother there in January. Tara, one of the top managers at the Inn, helped me plan for it over the phone since I live out of state. Everything was lovely. The food was great, the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, and Tara checked in on us a few times to make sure our party was a success! Thank you, thank you for a great evening 😊

Go to the Brewery - way better.

After sitting for 10 minutes in a empty restaurant we got up and left. The host sat us but nobody ever came to serve us ... šŸ™ Y'all deserve the one star review.

Was warned immediately by our waitress that they were slow last night.

However, service was timely and friendly. Between the host, waitress, manager, and runner, everyone worked well together and efficiently.

The meals and apps were great. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying veg was excellent and well seasoned.

Pricing for multiple drinks, apps, salads, and entrees, was surprisingly reasonable. We will certainly be back for dinner again.

Had back-to-back dinner here while on vacay in the Poconos.
First dinner experience was great as it was the first ā€œrealā€ food we’ve had. Staff was most attentive. The marinara dip for the garlic cheesy bread was top notch- great balance of acidity & smokiness. The traditional Italian onion soup (think French but just with a different name?) was outstanding. The baked salmon was cooked perfectly - medium rare just how we prefer it, with a terrific, light caper butter sauce. The mashed potato was light & fluffy. The manhattan was perfectly made.
Second evening, must’ve been a different chef, bartender & wait staff as everything was a disappointment. Manhattan looked & tasted like a Shirley Temple - was sent back & requested for Makers Mark but even that came out too sweet, pinkish in color vs amber.
Salmon was dry & the mashed potato had the texture of glutinous paste - like the plate was left under a heat lamp waaaaay too long. If service were to be consistent, we would definitely return.

I made a Complaint last week regarding our Dinner on Monday, Well I received a call from the Manager Scott about our complaint and told me he would like us to come back and have a Dinner on him and Shawnee to make Amends, We did go back Wednesday and met Scott, who I think is a Very Good Manager, and we had a Very Good Dinner, I would recommend Shawnee River Room Restaurant to my Family and Friends, come and see the Famous Shawnee Golf and Resort and All it's Beauty , you won't be Disappointed

My food was much too salty. Others in my group also had complaints about their meals.

Run down place with old dining chairs that get stuck on the floor that could easily be fixed to glide quietly and effortlessly. Dirty windows . Bathroom toilet seat was destroyed by chemical cleanings that could have been replaced at no great expense. We arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait from our 6:30 rez until after 8pm to get any food. We didn't even order appetizers because it took so long for anyone to take our order, and there were 10 empty tables around us. Service was non-existent. We had to Ask for water, and drink refills. A good waitress makes sure the customer doesn't have to ask. My husband, a superb home chef could tell that my steak had been frozen, and defrosted in a microwave; the telltale hard overcooked corners, and it lacked moisture and was tough to chew. My steak knife was dull and would shred and pull the meat instead of cut through it. Boring menu, stuff you could cook at home. Nothing outstanding here whatsoever, and they brought the bill to us with a 20% gratuity already added to it! Maybe if service was exceptional, but it was Not.

Beautiful space. Lily ( our server) was attentive and friendly. Food was good. My husband had pork porterhouse and I had the vegetarian lasagna. We both had salads. We had read that service can be slow. Our food took about 20 mins. I felt it was fair. We ate and had drinks and dessert while watching the sunset over the golf course. A truly lovely and relaxing dinner experience.

This restaurant is located inside the Inn. Go inside and straight to the River Room. Highly suggested to make reservations as this is a Gulf Resort too and might be busy at certain hours. Many workers approach throughout the service. Food was really good for the price asked. Portions are big depends on item ordered. Careful on the spice level. Ordered a chicken sandwich and was told the spice was not bad. Was a bit too much heat. Overall, not a bad place to dine. I did feel underdressed a bit, but they didn’t seem to mind.

Vegetarian options: Ask server

Dietary restrictions: Tell server

Parking: Parking is a bit far from the entrance. Thought there was more parking; however, the entrance is only a turn around or drop off.

Filet mignon was average at best, had zero flavor. Waitress was nice and friendly which is why I didn’t give 1 star. Places like this think they can survive alone on location and views, with sub par fy
