Absolutely AMAZING food!! The service was just as amazing!! I can’t say enough about this place and the people there!! I had the Torta and it was perfect! Just the right amount of ingredients! The seasoning on the chicken is out of this world!! My husband had Al Pastor tacos and he was very pleased as well! Stuffed with deliciousness! I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!!! 10/10

We love this place! Finally authentic tasty tacos worth eating, that don’t require a drive to a separate town. As a Shippensburg local- this is by far my favorite addition to the town in the last few years. With the rate of inflation- it’s as expensive to dine at Taco Bell or McDonalds, as it is to support this local establishment. On each visit they’ve been kind and timely. I hope to see them busier, as I’d hate to lose such great eats this close to home.They offer high chairs, and their menu has something for everyone who claims they love a taco. I’m all for the Al Pastor traditional with extra hot sauce- but it’s nice to still be able to grab a lunch with my friends who are beef/chz/sour cream people (or if you have kid like that).I love this place so much- I went out the other day for some, only to realize it was their only day closed (Sunday) and my disappointment was unsurmountable. Prompting me to write a review! 5/5

When this restaurant first opened it was amazing. The food was great and it felt authentic, not authentic in regards to the style of food, mexican, but authentic as its cooked fresh and with passion.However, the last two times we have purchased food here it has gone down in quality.Today we ordered a steak burrito, chicken tacos and there Birria soup. The rice tasted the same as minute rice, it had no flavor and no texture to it. It was bland and gooey. I have enjoyed their burrito in the past but not these last two times.The chicken tasted different, maybe different seasoning, but it was a step down from before. Didn't finish the tacos.The birria soup was a different type of rammen noodles, it was birria flavored. They added meat and rice to it. Seemed like a good idea, but the flavor of the noodles took over, the combo of rice, meat and noodles also didn't go well.I don't know what has changed in this restaurant, could be the chef, the seasonings or the lack of competition that has allowed them to be less attentive to their food. Which is a shame because the first few times we ate here the food was amazing.We will be taking a drive to either Hagerstown or Chambersburg next time we want Mexican food.
Delicious! The quesabirra tacos are the best! Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because they close at 8. We’re a sports family and are never home before 8. So the only chance we have to get some is the weekend.

Every single time I have ordered food from here, it blows me away! The consistency time after time is awesome! I’ve had from the burritos and birria tacos to the bowls and chips with tri dips. It’s awesome! They will forever have my business. When you order extra toppings through online ordering (comes at a cheap up charge compared to other places) they hook you up! The fresh salsa and queso are the most authentic I have ever had. I love this place!Vegetarian options: They could accommodate no meat friends! Perhaps burritos/bowls with everything but meat. Plus awesome no meat sides!Parking: It’s paid street parking but if you online order you can pull up into a spot that’s only a few steps away from the entrance and grab you food and go without having to pay the meter. If you go on the weekend that street parking will probably be taken but you can pull into the church parking and grab and go. Off street parking can be found in lots around a few block radius of the building. Doesn’t belong to the restaurant but you can find parking easily.
This is a go-to spot for my husband and I. It was our first date spot, and holds memories. Not only does this establishment hold emotional value to us, it has amazing food and kind workers. It is clean and a good environment to eat it. We always receive our food in 5-7 minutes and it comes out delicious every time. Monterrey Tacos is a great place to go for any kind of occasion, and any group of people. Will continue to have dates here :)

One of the very best quesabirria tacos I've ever eaten. Amazing. We snuck in less than 30 minutes before closing. The service was fast and friendly. Before I go any further, I need to mention just how incredibly good it smelled the minute we opened the door. You just knew, from the savory scent, the food was going to be incredible. The place was spotless. We asked for recommendations, but couldn't pass up the quesabirrias. Not only can you get them as tacos (3 for about $14) but you can also eat the same combination of ingredients as a burrito, torta, and more. They serve them as expected, with onions, cilantro, and juicy lime wedges. The broth is excellent. Flavorful and not overly salty like so many versions. The tacos came with a side of salsa. We tried the hot and medium, and they both were great. The hot is truly hot but still with good flavor. The medium was a green sauce and was just hot enough for the less adventurous chili head. Also with good flavor. I can't think of a single complaint. Two thumbs waaaaaay up.
