I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this had to be the worst service and food I've had in a long time.I've never been to redemption bbq before, and I thought that by the reviews, it would be a great place to go for a birthday lunch. I called to make reservations for Saturday. You place your order and pay before you sit at your table. I'm always skeptical of paying before you get served (in case the service is bad). I ordered the Texas tray that had a half rack of ribs, brisket, sausage, and 2 sides. My wife ordered ribs with 2 sides. The first thing that went wrong was I went to the soda fountain. I got Sprite, and it had black specs of I'm assuming mold in it. We told the server and got a new cup with sweet tea instead. When my food came out, my order was wrong they had pulled pork instead of brisket, which I wasn't going to worry with since I like both. The pulled pork tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot. The ribs were dry, and the spicy bbq sauce left a lot to be desired. My wife had her sides come out without her ribs. When the server asked if we needed anything else, we told her that we were still missing a half rack of ribs. The server said that we didn't order another rib (which is something you should never do as a server). I said to have the ribs in a to go box and paid her at the counter again. Fast forward another 10 minutes, and the server asks if we need anything. We said we were still missing our ribs, and our other guests were missing some food as well. The service was terrible, and the restaurant was only half full.If you like good BBQ or service, do not come here.

Redemption BBQ is not the best bbq I have ever eaten but it is certainly one of the best locally. I stopped in for a late lunch and the business was empty. However I was treated by a friendly server and ordered at the counter. I got a half chicken, sauce on the side (I wanted to try them both) a side of smoked Mac and cheese, as well as a side of fries. I found a table and food was brought out quickly. For being "off hours" everything was hot and fresh. Chicken and a great flavor and the Mac and cheese was creamy with a great smoky flavor. The fries were fresh cut but were too salty for my taste. Serving sizes were large and filling. One downfall to Redemption BBQ is their brisket is pulled and not sliced.

The smoked Mac and cheese and the shanty beans are definitely worth trying. You order and pay before you sit down and the food comes out pretty quick. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a good BBQ place.Parking: There's a parking lot out back behind the restaurant on Earl street.Kid-friendliness: It is definitely kid friendly. They do not sell alcohol but I believe it is BYOB. The second time we went my brother and little sister played a game of pool before we left.

We reserve a room at a hotel within walking distance just to eat at Redemption bbq. Coming from Lancaster,Pa a short distance away 3 or 4 times a year is so worth the travel. The servers are super sweet and always willing to help in any way they can. We order the Texas tray and it feeds 2 but probably could feed 2 more. Best bbq in the realm of bbq in Pa. Thank you
