Despite my many longstanding reservations, re: family style dining, I have to give this restaurant my unqualified endorsement. I love visiting Lancaster County, and the hospitality and service shown by the people who operate Good 'N Plenty demonstrated once again why I enjoy this part of the country. Additionally, the food was delicious, particularly the dessert. 10/10 would revisit.

Family style buffet. There are large tables set up in rows. Tables have 12-15 seats. We went on a Friday night, waited roughly 20 minutes in line, then another hour to be seated. Which is not bad for the amount of people there. So if you don't have 1-2 hours to wait to eat, don't go here! A server brings your food to you family style. They work hard, so expect to tip them for their hard work! After being seated, there is pickled pepper cabbage & apple sauce to eat while you wait for your server. There is fried chicken, roast beef, cubed ham, peas, corn, mashed potatoes, homemade bread, gravy, chocolate ice cream, wet bottom shoo fly & pumpkin pie. Very delicious, except for the cubed ham. I did not like this at all, way too much brown sugar, it was like eating a desert, not a fan, I don't like sweet meats.$27.50 for adults, $16.00 for a 12 year old. I give this place 5 stars for the food & service & 2 stars for the atmosphere. This is not like a restaurant style buffet, people are close together, you sit with strangers. We sat with a family of 4. The wife & kids were nice, but the husband was horrible!! He talked nonsense & stupidity the entire meal. He was just intolerable!! I felt so bad for his family, it was very embarrassing, & extremely awkward. So needless to say that was not an enjoyable meal for me & my family. The tables are close together. The table to the right of us had 12 adults & 6 children all under age 5. The kids were running around the tables, playing in the aisles, & hiding under tables. The parents just let them run loose & the servers had to walk over them to get to the tables. There was no parental supervision at this table. The adults were conversing & letting these kids run amuck in the restaurant. The table directly behind us hasd a newborn infant that screamed, whaled, & cried the entire meal. So overall not a good experience!! If you enjoy eating in peace & quiet I DO NOT recommend this place!! I had a migraine when I left here. Sure I ate well, but it wasn't worth the headache for me. I'm giving a generous 3 stars. You can have the best food in the world, but you need to be able to relax & enjoy that meal. I most certainly did not enjoy my meal experience here.

I love their open face roast beef sandwiches as they make their own roast beef ..I ordered this today and was surprised and very disappointed when I got home with the takeout to find it was turkey instead which was very bland. The gravy was cornstarch and water but someone apparently forgot to add the broth or seasoning. The soup I brought my husband was hearty but also bland and the broth tasted like water not chicken....all in all very disappointing...

An all you can eat place that brings the food to you. Fried chicken, meatloaf, ham, corn, mashed potatoes, and dessert. The waitress would give a smart remark or weird look when you requested more food!

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was packed! We had to wait 40mins for a table but it was good! I would advise getting there early because everything was almost sold out when we got there! Thank goodness the fried chicken was still there! It's pretty good! I loved the buttered noodles. Tip I actually dipped the turkey in the apple butter and it was amazing! Oh my they are deffintly not healthy! The store closes at 7 but we were there till at least 8ish . I got a whoopie pie for the trip back and it was good! The cookie part tasted kinda of old but it was good!

Delicious! Arrived at 6:15 on a Saturday. Had a 30 min wait for menu service. Tip ... even though they close at 7 if you get there and on list by 6:30 you will get a table. Our waitress Breanna was lovely. Fried chicken was amazing. Gift shop is interesting. Did not make any purchases but it helped pass the time while we visited. Will be back on a future visit

Very busy when visiting but well worth the wait. Fried chicken was excellent as were the side dishes. Waitress was very good as well checking on us and getting whatever we needed. Definitely a great experience.

Good 'N Plenty is a classic Pennsylvania Dutch family restaurant. I've been here a couple times over the years and it's always consistently good albeit old-fashioned. This is the place to go for hearty farm-style comfort food. If you're looking for cutting edge cuisine, this is not the place for you. GNP offers a banquet-esque family-style option for about $27; personally I think the menu is the way to go. You'll have to make that decision at the check-in desk where a woman with a New York accent but who in true PA fashion says "yous" will hand you a ticket with your number on it. You can peruse the tchotchke-filled gift shops while you're waiting; maybe you need a new Santa Claus statuette, an Amish Country ashtray, or a glow-in-the-dark-spinning-toy your kids can taunt you with? When they're ready to seat you, your number is called on the P.A. We waited about 30 minutes on a busy Saturday (mid-day). Once you're seated, there's not much of a wait once you place your order because the kitchen is cooking huge quantities of everything back there. The portions here are very hefty, so bring your appetite. I had the PA Dutch Sampler which included all of the following: fried chicken (very good), a slab of meatloaf (a little bread for me), pulled pork and sauerkraut (very tangy), bread stuffing (soul warming), and green beans (definitely cooked with a ham hock but needed some salt). Speaking of seasoning, the salt and pepper on the table may be in use because nothing is particularly seasoned beforehand, just the way people cooked back in the Eisenhower years. For dessert I had a slice of the classic shoe fly pie (sort of like pecan pie with no pecans)...so rich and delicious the slightly salty crust was fantastic. Our waitress was great, young and peppy too. I think this place is a bargain, too. My huge lunch described about came to about $16.

This review is only for what the restaurant is doing, for their customers, in a PANDEMIC.We always enjoyed this restaurant on our frequent trips to Lancaster. However, I called to ask about procedures and masking at this very dangerous time. Apparently, NO mask required for employees or patrons! Tables as usual, close together. Even though I am vaccinated, I only go to restaurants that care about their customers! I wonder if they knowthe Delta variant is rampant. I also wonderhow many people have Covid19. Shame on them! I'm so disappointed in this restaurant!

Best chicken pot pie and mashed potatoes I've ever had. The brown buttered noodles are a must order side as well. I will definitely be back to do Family style dining so I can try everything else on the menu.

What a find! My daughter and I came up to the Lancaster area on a day trip. We discovered the Smoketown/ Bird-in-Hand area by accident. Saw a sign for the "Good N Plenty" and decided to try it! The staff was friendly, the cost , not bad for a "Family style". and the food great. Yeah, its the same as every other "Family Style" but then, they added their charm. First, the Ham was not the salty kind and thick slices. The fried Chicken was fully cooked and crisp, the meat loaf was not the mass of bread mixed with some hamburger, but actual "MOM Style" meat loaf. Veggies were great and vegetarian acceptable. The desserts were good, if you have never had "Shoefly pie" your in for a treat. Yeah, it has the normal tourist trap gift shop, but I did not go there to buy trinkets, I went to eat. Loved the lemonade, not too sweet, not too sour.
