Main Moon Somerset Chinese Restaurant

Stopped at this location off the NJ Turnpike, Our food order was like over cooked mush with no flavor or missing key ingredients. Sat at one table in the front, hot air smelly atmosphere and dirty. Just a warning to trevelers.

The food is okay but I would say it's in the lower end of generic Chinese food. I say that because the spices and seasonings are very bland. I've only been there twice but have tasted four different dishes. Maybe I just haven't found the one they do well yet. If I do I'll update my review.

Great job today. Pricy but everything is now days.

Unfriendly staff. Threw out the undercooked rubbery food before finishing.

Food was tasty and served quickly. Prices were okay. Nothing fancy here and dine in setting is awkward. Take out option available. Would probably do that in the future.

I will say that the food is excellent. If you're a foodie in like Chinese food then it tastes delicious but it's way overpriced. I wanted an order of fried rice just for myself and an egg roll so I looked at their lunch menu and everything comes with fried rice LOL so you get two fried rice and no egg roll and it was $14 for an order of fried rice so I went somewhere else. Not sure why they can offer a small cheaper lunch portion like every other Asian restaurant on the planet but for one sure there is plenty of them so...

Finally broke down and gave it a try after two years and I now know why I have never gone before. Paid way too much for some extremely low quality Chinese food. Will not be back

Today I called and the Main Moon is on vacation until such time. But I've always enjoyed their food and wish they would bring back the buffet.

I had two carry out meals of chicken dishes that were terrible. One was left overs and the other was all breading. I must say, however I had two previous chicken dishes that were delicious. For the quality of their food, the price was way too high. I won't go back.

Still a solid choice if you're craving Chinese food in a hurry. It's gone through a lot of management changes in recent years which has had an effect on the quality.

Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes that include no meat.
