Great cozy atmosphere. You feel like family there. It’s the only place I like to go when I’m in Somerset.

Stopped here on the way home from Cape May NJ last year and it was good enough that we stopped again this year. Great service food was good although mashed potatoes were a little on the salty side(we don’t use salt) for us. Still very happy that we stopped again second time;)

On the last day of my visit to Somerset i took my friends Donald and Sharon Kruger to their "favorite restaurant" for their 8th anniversary which was a blast mostly because of how well we were received at this restaurant...the wait staff is charming and efficient, the food is a 9 out of 10 and the owner even dropped by to congratulate the lovebirds...i was so enamored with the ambience that i took videos...blessings!
Very good and enjoyable

This place is an abysmal 1970s DUMP and DIVE! It's stuck in a 1970s time warp! The place hasn't been cleaned, updated, refreshed, or remodeled at all in over four decades!! Still the same menu, decor, tables, chairs, bar stools, curtains as was in the 1970s! A dump! Dirty! Food is either frozen or out of a can! Nothing fresh except salad. It's stuck in time! The owners, the Pletchers, have sadly let this place go to pot with no interest in refreshing the menu OR the decor! It's still 1979 mauve/plum colored pastels curtains, chair cushions...OMG! YAWN! Go to a fast food joint! It's cleaner, modern, refreshing and better food!

13 of us rolled into Pine Grill last night after visiting the Flight 93 Memorial, all of us hungry and with exactly zero expectations. None of us had been before. By the time we left, I think we were all wondering when we could go back. First off - Tessa, our server, deserves her own fan club. Patient, kind, funny, and with the kind of attention to detail that most restaurants only dream about. Honestly, she could give a masterclass on how to be a great server. Now, the steak. I usually don’t gamble on steak at a place I’ve never tried, but they had a flat iron on the menu and I couldn’t resist. Best roll of the dice ever - it was cooked a flawless medium rare and genuinely one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Everything came out hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered which is no small feat when you’re serving a party of 13. Every dish we tried was excellent. And here’s the part I can’t stress enough: don’t skip dessert. Trust me. Your future self will thank you. Bottom line: Pine Grill is now on our “must stop” list in Somerset. Zero expectations turned into a night full of happy surprises.

What a great find just off the pa turnpike. Easy on off.
Very quaint atmosphere from the 40's or 50's including a phone booth, used for storage. Ruben was very good along with the BLT. The only con was the speed of service. Not slow but also not quick. Eating there as a stop of the turnpike would be better served by quicker service. Definitely worth a stop!

Pros:
*Even though they were busy, we were seated at a table quickly.
*The people (wait staff, management, and support staff) rotated through and were constantly checking in on us (but not in an overbearing way).
*Prices were acceptable for portion size.
*VERY convenient location while traveling.
Cons:
*Not certain if something was just up this night, but getting anything after drinks was very slow.
Mixed:
*Food was hit and miss, even within the same dish. Blackened chicken pasta was good, but strangely seasoned - some bites were GREAT, others were ruined by far too much salt. Same for the pork chop.

This restaurant was recommended to us in our travels through the area. The Pine Grill Restaurant serves up regular American fare in a rustic, old-fashioned dining room. The service was fantastic we had a very friendly and attentive waitress. Food was ok- the best stand out was the side salad that had very good tomatoes, cucumbers, and dressing.
