Hayabei Sushi

Went to eat on Saturday night , and dissatisfied, disappointed and frustrated is an under statement. Have been here several times, food is good but we waited over a hour and for our singular appetizer to come out. 30 minutes prior to that the waitress came to the table when we clearly had no utensils no plates and definitely no food and asks how is everything🤦. Just terrible no urgency from the wait staff, when the food finally came out about hour and a half later it was good. The guy that seemed to somewhat know what was going on gave us a discount and helped us out, when I gave the waitress her tip she was annoyed, unfortunately I do not believe in communism and believe you have to earn your money even as a tip if you give 10% you get 10%.

Got food to go last night and everything was really good! Hibachi meal was superb and Sushi rolls were fresh and delicious!

We tried to give this place another shot. Certain dishes a good as well as the sushi. Last time it was over an hour wait from the time I arrived to get my food from when they told us to come.

This time, it was the food. I ordered salmon teriyaki and I was expecting more. I will add a photo to illustrate my review since it won’t let me attach one here. But my salmon teriyaki included sections of corn on the cob and I believe 3 undercooked baby carrots. That’s it. Again, for the price, you expect more. We will stick with Ooka for the foreseeable future.

Food was reasonably good apart from the deep fried roll which was reminiscent of a cheap crab cake, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Portions were a bit on the small side.
