David's Diner is one of those hidden gems. A place you drive by but don't realize just what you're missing. They have the best corned beef hash that I have ever had in my entire life. It's ruined me for ever eating it anywhere else. The pancakes are bigger than your head. I love the food here, and the service has always been amazing. They also offer a discount for veterans, which this veteran appreciates! Seriously though, try the corn beef hash! It's phenomenal! And they gave me a flower on Mother's Day. So sweet.
Excellent homemade food that warms the soul. Friendly service with heart, they give a discount for military and first responders.
Soups are always on point. Delicious 😋
Super friendly staff. Breakfast is great you get your money's worth.
What a hidden gem! Delicious food and fantastic service.
This one was on my short list for acclaimed Pittsburgh area diners that I hadn't gotten to try. I don't often get a chance to have breakfast out because of my work schedule, and when I do, it's usually Mondays, when David's Diner is closed. So when I got a random Thursday off with my family, I knew a I had to give it a shot- and I wasn't disappointed.
David's Diner is a small place off of Freeport in Springdale, and you get a feel even before you walk in the door that this place has a lot of history and local appeal. The dining room is small, but not unexpected or two tiny to handle a decent sized crowd. While we were there, they turned tables quickly and consistently. The staff was pleasant and attentive and thoughtful.
They are known for their very large pancakes, and the whole family got some iteration of them. These are serious cakes- not only big, but also extremely toothsome and thick. Not in a way that makes them any less tasty, just know even eating one with any breakfast side takes a good bit of hunger.
We also got three different meats among us, and all three tasted fresh and definitely not like the cookie cutter Sysco sides so many places utilize. My side of ham was thick and flavorful, one of the better breakfast hams I've had in the area. And the prices overall were quite fair, especially for the amount of food everyone had on their plate, which included some leftovers for all four of us.
Overall, this Diner lives up to the area hype, combining enjoyable food at nice prices in a pleasant atmosphere accented by a nice and caring staff. Definitely worth a go if you're around the Springdale area when they are open.
One of my all time favorite places for breakfast. Funny thing is the very first item on the menu is the meat lovers omlett and my eyes have never made it past that. Been going there years and always get that omlett.
The hype was worth the visit. Extremely friendly staff. The food was amazing and plentiful.
It was my first time at this diner and I loved it! Delicious food, very generous portions, great prices, and friendly and attentive staff. As soon as they approach your table, they asked if you are anyone is a service member, veteran, or first responder because they give discounts for them. I have a lot of respect for this place and definitely will be back!
I love country fried steak with gravy, and they really nailed it here. I got their country fried steak special on biscuits with egg on top. They had a large amount of gravy on the steak which really made me happy.
I came by myself, so it was quick to seat, but if you have a larger group, you will probably be waiting for a bit because the place has few seats for large groups. Also, my order came out so fast that I didn't even stay longer than half an hour because the food arrived immediately.
I appreciate how the check spells out the cost and a note about the credit card service fee amount, so it's obvious and not a surprise. Also apparently they might have some discount for veterans, firefighters, etc because they asked everyone if they were one.
This place is the bomb...great food and great service

Very Pleased with Destiny
What a great place! Loved when we sat down the waitress asked if I was a veteran or a first responder and offered a discount if I was. The food was so good. The pancakes were huge and everything was cooked to order perfectly. The waitresses were very attentive and I’m glad I finally made it into this place to check it out. It was a first date as well and it made it that much better!
