I had the Nashville hot and it was great, not too spicy! The chicken was tender and moist. The ranch was good too.

I got the classic sandwich, Nashville hot, fries and a drink. The chicken was temperature hot but the Nashville hot was not that spicy. They only have 3 heat options so I guess I would want to try Inferno next time. The chicken sandwich was a little messy but really good. The fries were good. The sweet tea was not good. It tasted like they used too many tea bags or was burnt. The food took a little longer than expected but it wasn’t horrible. Overall good experience, I would try it again if in the area. Parking was difficult as we could not figure out the meters and ended up parking in a nearby garage.

My son and I enjoyed lunch at Big Dean’s Hot Chicken for the first time this week. It was OK. The servers weren’t friendly, and the chicken was good, but not great.

When to pick up lunch yesterday and the girl at the counter was rude and my tenders weren't cooked. The renovations are nice but I'm not sure I'm coming back.

Have had Big Deans for 3 years now, by far the most flavorful chicken in all of state college the food is consistent and great all the time I was just up here last weekend and they renovated the inside which looks great. For great food and great service go to BIG

Big Dean’s is one of those restaurants that only makes a few dishes, but does them incredibly well. Their Nashville hot chicken is spectacularly seasoned with just enough spice to up the flavor without killing you. Fries and toast are to die for, but they have on occasion gotten soggy on the drive home.

Exceptional service and the food is very good. I had a small issue with my order today and the manager was quick to fix it and make it right. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good fried chicken spot.

Had a large catering order with them last week. Food was hot, and ready for pick up when I arrived. And as always, the chicken was amazing!

Major renovations done to this place, but what didn't change is the food here! Always love it.

This place serves the best hot chicken, hands down. The chicken is always incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection every time. If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering hot chicken, this is the spot! Every time I’m in State College, I make it a point to stop by—just wish they were closer to Philly!

This is a great place to grab a meal that's filling for a decent price. Although it's possible to hit the $10-$20 ranges if you wanted to be more extravagant (desert, etc) their Starter is a good one in State College for a comfortable lunch (two chicken tenders, Texas toast, and option a fries/coleslaw, and a dipping sauce). Oh, and you can pick your spicy levels between Perfectly Southern (no spicy), Nashville (moderate) or Inferno (for obvious reasons). Surprisingly, the quality and price point make this a frequent favorite of mine. Great for dine-in or carry out.

Wheelchair accessibility: Door could pose a challenge for some (do not recall a push-button open option), but the route up to the counter and out are notably wide. A number of tables have a booth & chair option. Have not used their restrooms.

Delicious food! A bit pricey, but definitely worth a try. The chicken was seasoned well and was crispy. I recommend the coleslaw.
