“State College does not have a ton of fine dining options. The Allen Street Grill vaulted to the top of my list. Amazing food, well curated wine list, not a fault to be found. If you are planning a celebration, this is a fantastic option. We will be back”

“Two for lunch on a Thursday. We were seated quickly, although the servers were quite busy and it took a while to order. They have lunch specials at reasonable prices (see my photo of this menu page). Food came out quickly and was tasty. Servers refilled our waters many times throughout the meal. Overall a good experience.”

“Our group tried to make reservations for March 16, 2024. This business was called and a female answered and stated the Manager would call back, he never did. She called back and the male manager answered and stated that he called her back two days prior. She only called the day before. Then he said he called he back the day she called and she told him that he did not. So a lieing manager. We we had 15 people interested in coming to your establishment, I would think it would have been a couple hundred dollars, but you refused us. YOUR LOSS. Hopefully anyone from our group will never patronize your business. It would have been my first time since we are driving to meet the others that are from Duncansville/Altoona area. I would give you a ZERO review. The business down the street was more than happy to accommodate us with open arms. YOUR LOSS!”

“I have always enjoyed Brothers Pizza but unfortunately some of them have gone to cheap. The one that I am reviewing is still doing good. The wife and I just ate there she got a Chicken salad I had a hot Italian sub and other than the the sub could of been a bit hotter I had no complaints. 2 sodas a salad and a 11 sub came to $36 and though i feel like it should be a bit cheaper they don't rip you off. The Brothers down in Milesburg is, i ordered the same hot Italian from that location and I felt like I was eating a lettuce sandwich there was barley any lunch meat needless to say we don't order from that location anymore which sucks because it's basically across the street from our house. So yes I wish it was cheaper but at least you are getting something for your money. I will continue to visit the location on Benner Pike as long as it keeps being quality and quantity. They still give you the homemade bread which is one thing that makes or breaks a place like this which for a hoagie is very important but even for making the salad more enjoyable.”

The atmosphere, staff and venue were absolutely perfect. Both Jessica and Mark went above and beyond to ensure our wedding went off without a hitch. And the food was to die for! Every step of the wedding planning process, Jessica worked with us to make sure our wedding day so special and everything we hoped it to be. On the day of, Mark went above and beyond to carry out our vision and make it perfect. Their hospitality was more than anyone could have asked for and we will forever recommend this venue to all.”

I had a number of questions that were happily answered by staff. All in all, great experience and will definitely return again.”

They're also open super late.

My only complaint is EVERY time I want them it's on the day they're scheduled to be closed! I have to wait a whole day for the pizza then!

“A friend introduced me to The Cove about a month ago and I am a fan! I've gotten delivery from them twice and have had such pleasant experiences. Then, I was having a birthday party for my son and the people at The Cove were nice enough to make the pizzas for us even though they weren't open by the time the party started. I can't say enough good things about this place. Love the food, but love the people who work there even more! Highly recommend!!”

Also, it could feel a bit overwhelming when from a different residence area and really weird once you aren’t a freshman. It is still a good overall commons though!”

My friends had a rodeo cheesesteak and the chicken alfredo (it smelled SO good and the portion was HUGE!) Then we went to paint. The wait staff kept up with everyone (86 people!). Definitely a good choice for a bartender! The restaurant was nice and clean. I ordered a beer and a steak. Overall the meal was very good. Steak was cooked just right, fries were tasty and the broccoli was good too.
However, while the steak was very good, it had a tendon running through it that I couldn’t even cut with a steak knife. I just had to eat around it. Kind of a bummer.”

“I love this place, but it is true their food can be either hit or miss. So far I loved every soup I got from here, especially egg and tomato! It is such a comfort food. They also have other dishes that doesn't seem too authentic, which I haven't (wouldn't) try. I have recommended this place to my friends but always told them to get actual Chinese food, not like ramen. The owner is also very friendly. I don't speak any Chinese but I could see he cares about his customers. He remembers his recurring customers and makes sure they are satisfied with their service. Overall, this is a great place if you know what to get, or have a friend who can explain you about the menu.”

“I love Green Bowl! I always get the buffet and make small bowls so I can mix and match and try new combinations. I always go hungry and I certainly get my money's worth. I've taken friends, coworkers and family and I've never had a bad experience. You can also watch your food sizzle on the giant wok if that is something you'd like to do. While I don't have any allergies, they are always pro-active in asking and separating out the meals who do have allergies or dietary restrictions.”

“Champs is a great spot to go to if you are looking to watch live sports. They have plenty of TV's. It does get extremely busy when there are big games in town. We were in State College for the PSU vs Ohio football game.

The line to get your name on the waiting list can be overwhelming and a bit chaotic. If you work your way up to the host (a bit crudgemoney), your name will be added to the list. But if you aren't there and they call your name, they move on to the next person right away. There is not a text when your table is ready or the vibrating discs etc.

Getting drinks at the bar was a challenge given the amount of people vs staff. At our table, the waitress was great. Drinks and food came out on a reasonable amount of time.

The food itself was good, not great (for our party). They do have a pretty extensive menu, so there are lots of options. The pizza (thicker crust, thin in the middle), looked tasty and will try next time.”
