I am blessed to work so near to Lupita's. For about $10 I can get an amazing lunch (today it was a gordita, a side of beans, and a small drink). The portion sizes are great and the food is delicious. They have a small salsa bar in the dining room that you can help yourself to. The space is casual; the food is served on paper plates on cafeteria trays. Service is friendly and quick. I am looking forward to many more meals.
On a stopover to NY, staying at a nearby hotel, I went in for a snack and being from California, the menu didn’t look very interesting. I ordered the barbacoa beef, carnitas taco and a chicken empanada with a side of beans.Getting an assortment of salsas (which were very tasty), I returned to my hotel with my order and I was pleasantly surprised at the deep, rich flavors of all items, even the beans were more than the run of the mill paste. Coming from the west coast, I find this town lacks good Mexican food. I just had the best burritto (hands down) I've ever had being here for 1.7 years. Don't waste your money at La plaza, Taco Hell, or Chipotle. This is where you go. Ty to the staff and tip my hat to the cook!
