Great home food vibe, very reasonable pricing, and more than filling proportions. The student menu is even cheaper, making it ideal for Penn Staters.

A Wonderful Taste of Home!
The staff at Cafe Alina are incredibly friendly and always make you feel welcome. The food is consistently delicious and high-quality, and the prices are very reasonable. For us, it's the only place in State College where we can get a true taste of home—the Indian dishes are wonderfully authentic and taste just like they were made back home. We are so grateful to have this gem in town. Highly recommended!
Out here far from home Cafe Alina feels like the one place that holds me steady. The food does more than fill me it reminds me of who I was before I left. The paneer tastes like something made with memory not just spice. The naan feels warm in a way that reaches the chest before the hands. I have tried other places but nothing sits in the heart the same way. When I walk in it does not feel like a restaurant it feels like someone kept a light on for me. If home could be served on a plate this is where I would find it.

This spot is a gem. The chai was soothing, the best chai in Sc, the paneer dishes were packed with flavor, and the naan was crazyyy. On top of that, the people are super kind, the service is quick, and the vibe is amazing. Its lively but also chill enough to hang out or even study. Definitely one of those places you’ll want to keep coming back to.

Genuinely the nicest owner, always accommodating and fantastic food!
Asim ji is always accommodating to students and has to be one of the most insightful to have a conversation with. I started off by coming once a day because I lived nearby, now I come here every day. The ambience, the service and the hospitable environment make it something I look forward to visiting every day after class!

Veg Pakora may not be authentic, but it tastes amazing. Also, I guess mint chutney was not included with the Pakora. You'd have to buy it separately (just 85 cents but not sure why). The Chicken Biryani was too oily for my liking. But, it doesn't taste bad tho

Very Kind Owner, amazing food and very healthy too. Very well in budget food for college students. All Desi restaurants close early and mid day too but this one is open all day until 10 pm. 2 min from campus too.

Good quality food that tasted like home cooked. We had Biryani, Butter Paneer, Naan and Chai. Everything tasted delicious.
The only shortcoming we found was the smell. The table was cleaned with the most stinkiest rag that I was about to puke 🤢🤢🤢 We had to change our table. Bathroom was smelly, too.

I ordered the chicken karahi and the mutton biryani. The chicken karahi was a bit bland, but the mutton biryani was comparatively better—though it still could have been improved.
