I typically go to the Altoona location. This was my first experience at the State College location. It was very busy with a 30 minute wait for a table, despite there being empty tables in the dining room. It was very noisy, due to how busy they were. The food was okay although my steak fries were over cooked and a bit crispy. The prices were reasonable. Our waitress was not very attentive and I had to flag her down several times for refills on our drinks or for to-go boxes. I don't know if there are other days/times that this location would be less busy. Possibly then, the service would be better. For me, I think I'll go to the Altoona location in the future. There's never a wait there and the service is much better.

The food is good and I can eat in or order for delivery. I have had severe holiday meals catered.

State College PA location- Do not recommend. Service is not good, time to get food way too long, food served cold, chewy and believed to be microwaved. Took about 40 minutes to just receive our food with two small hungry children that is to long, they could not even eat their bacon it was to hard and chewy. Never received corn bread & biscuits with our adult dinner meals. ( Other table did) no offer for refills on drinks. Ask for a second order of the kids pancakes and the waiter stated they’re going to be quite some time they’re not taking orders out of order we said never mind. Please give us our check. This is not typical for Cracker Barrel‘s in her hometown, but State College location you should do better. It was a very bad experience

Why are the dumplings a big glob! Someone is dumping all the squares of dough in at once causing them to stick together and then not enough broth

The matradee and waitress were lovely and professional. Checking out was another story. I used my 20% off coupon. The lady ringinging me up was totally confused. My food bill was $21.49, my store bill was $21.25. She kept telling me I had to spend more to equal $20. I stood there for 25 minutes waiting for her to figure it out. She kept saying you need to spend a little more. I did. You need to spend even more. I did. I just wanted to get out of there. When I got back to the car, I looked at the receipt. I paid $46 ! I went back in. A manager had to come and straighten it all out. My final bill was $36 and change. It was a nightmare. We had traveled 4hrs. to get to this cracker barrel and still had another 2 hrs. of traveling left. We were so late arriving to our destination. It took the pleasure out of our visit.

I used the curb side pickup for this visit and all went well. The person who brought my order to the car was very nice and friendly. Food was hot and fresh and of good quality and portion size. I would return to this location in the future.

Ordered delivery, 50.00 for food and delivery and the French Toast meal wasn’t even edible, hard as a rock and burnt to a crisp, ice cold. Never again.
