About two years ago, I went to this pub with some friends. The night was completely uneventful—no issues, no drama. Yet a week later, when I returned, I was suddenly denied entry for allegedly displaying “inappropriate behavior”—an accusation that mysteriously surfaced after the fact.
It wasn’t hard to guess the real reason: likely a few acquaintances of one of the managers, who simply didn’t like my presence, stirred up drama. I spoke with the manager, explained my side, and was told the matter would be reviewed—and that, at worst, the ban would be lifted within a month.
I’m not someone who goes to bars often. In fact, I haven’t returned to that place in two years and have only occasionally visited other pubs during that time. But when a friend recently suggested meeting there, I figured enough time had passed and gave it another shot. Once again, I was turned away—this time by a security guard who could barely remember what the original incident was even about.
I’ll be in this town for just about one more year to complete my doctorate, but I’ve decided never to set foot in that place again. The irony? People who’ve likely seen—and tolerated—far worse behavior are treating me like the problem. And the ones making that call? Let’s just say they don’t exactly measure up in terms of education, professionalism, or even a clean record. Google us.
Great pub! Staff and vibe is the best. The band called My Hero Zero is horrible, set list was okay but horrible signing. They played multiple days over the weekend and I left, simply wasn’t worth the cover and cost of drinks
Thinks their brand is superior and never lets anyone in because they want to hold the title of ‘best,’ most irresistible bar in town. You could sit in the line for 2+ hours with a half full bar and never get anywhere. Hope this helps.
Bartender was rude and dude at the door was a horrible person genuinely does not care for customers I would never go again and think no one should go there
Very slow evening, waited 20 minutes multiple times for a beer. This probably isn't the norm as I've noticed more staff showing up to work, but I can only report on what I'm experiencing currently.
The bartender at the front bar was so incredibly disrespectful and condescending. I have never experienced such blatant discrimination in my life. I left immediately after this horrific interaction and will never be returning.

I would reccomend avoiding this bar. very cramped place. Kinda going for the dive bar look on the inside but the outside was nice at least. Bartender and the guy checking ID's were very nice but I was thrown out by security for being visibly intoxicated when I had just finished my first drink. Unsure if they mistook me for someone else or if they were just trying to keep the "ratio" right. Claimed they watched me stumble outside about an hour before and that I was leaning on the wall. There where no seats available and my group where all by the wall so I guess I was intended to stand in the middle of walkway and block people. I was told i could not finish the drink i had just bought but there was no point in fighting him on it. In addition i was told that he was very rude to my group when they questioned him on it. Unfortunately that cost them the business of about 13 people but im sure thats a drop in the bucket with how crowded the place was. Ive worked in bar security so im wary of people claiming that they where thrown out for no reason but thats what happened in my case and it seems to be a common complaint looking through the 1 star reviews. If your looking to throw your money away for some alcohol I would say there are better places to do it than here.

The workers do not care about a customer’s experience. They will kick people out with no explanation. Tried to ask for a manager to talk to and was ignored. I wish I could give zero stars.
Used to love going to doggies however as of late the bouncers just randomly kick people out for no reason. I was enjoying my evening with my family when a bouncer interrupted our group conversation and told my brother he needed to leave. His reasoning was that he was leaning against a wall (a basic human response) and that he stumbled outside (we were outside 2 hrs earlier) when we asked about it the only response given was “I don’t owe you an explanation”. During this entire interaction as well a very drunk girl fell on the floor in view of the bouncer and she was not kicked out. If I could leave negative stars I would get your business together and stop kicking people out for no reason your bouncers on a power trip do better.

Great, crowded atmosphere but also a lot of space. Came here before the white out game from Denver. Probably the best prices in town for different drinks and slices of pizza. They did charge 50¢ for crushed red pepper. Loved the bags/cornhole outside! The pizza order took much longer than necessary. The line was very long.

My boyfriend and I went out there. We had two drinks and shot in 3 hours. The bouncers kicked him out but not me and didn’t give us a reason either

The old Rathskellar got a face-lift and, much like actual face-lifts, some are better than others. The new outdoor courtyard with live music and games has made this place even better!

It's our first time at state college, we came to have a beer and they didn't let me enter with my ID, they told me it wasn't valid, I'm Venezuelan, it's discriminatory not to let us in, we're a couple of old people.
