This is a beautiful high end french restaurant. A great place for a special occasion. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is awesome. We had Jumbo Lump Clampcake and Warm Goat Cheese salad for starters. The salad was good but the clamp cake was not impressive. Then, we had New York Strip and Sole Meuniere for entrees. The NY strip was tasty but the fish was lame. It came with a delicious pasta but we had to add salt to eat the fish. The desserts were the highlight of the night (they shouldn't be). All in all, the food was not so impressive, it felt short for the price.
Highly recommended to anyone interested in great food!
Staff very disrespectful. I guess if you have kids they don’t allow you to even come into the front door. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
We had a meeting at this restaurant and I am so impressed with all of the staff and the food was delicious. Our server Alicia was very good and very friendly. I would love to come again .
Had lunch in the Pub. Slow day, but still great service.
The two of us took the occasion to dine at Carnegie House Restaurant last night for the first time. The place was beautiful snd elegant. The staff was attentive and friendly. Emily, our server, was very professional, excellent service. The food was good. My cocktail, Kentucky Derby was high end, tasty and generous. Hubby had the Broken Heel IPA which he enjoyed. A nice assortment of bread was offered, with a salted butter patty, nice presentation. The little starter apple wrapped in prosciutto and topped with cheese was a tasty bite. Bruce ordered the New York Strip entree ordered medium rare, which was more rare than medium but he said it was good. It came sliced medallion style, which presented beautifully but kinda hard to judge if he got the whole steak. The fingerling potato dish that came with it was generous and he liked it. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken entree. I was happy that the kitchen handled my request for the greens to be prepared without garlic gracefully. The chicken was cooked well, but didn’t really have a lemon or pepper flavor, actually the main flavor profile was garlic 🤷🏼♀️ The Rosemary Frites were tasty, but difficult to eat graciously. Crispy and delicate, think thinner than a potato stick, they didn’t really stay on my fork and I was less than comfortable eating them with my fingers in an upscale restaurant. They were tasty, but again, not sure I got much of a rosemary taste. Don't know if I can say the meal was worth the price. It’s pricier than most restaurants in the area, but I’ve had better meals for less money. The atmosphere and presentation matched the pricing, which made for a lovely dining experience, just wish I was wowed by the food, too.
The service was great and the food was ok but it was EXCEPTIONALLY overpriced. We made the reservation for 11:30 brunch but when we got there we were presented with a price fix menu that did not include brunch foods. We were not informed of the price fixe menu when we made the reservation, which was disappointing. It was graduation weekend and also Mother’s Day so it I think the prices were jacked up because of that. I’m from the NY area so I know about good food and I understand higher priced food. For the amount we paid, we would expect a whole different level of dining. Bottom line, everything was good - it was just insanely overpriced.
This place has to be the best kept secret in state college. It's worth the trip The entire experience was very enjoyable and the server was well versed in the menu and even some of the back of the house operations as my mother had asked a few questions about some of the dishes. Excellent experience. Looking forward to enjoying another meal at grace

This was perfect for my anniversary. The atmosphere was so fancy, and the meal was really good. The Berkshire Pork Belly appetizer was surprisingly good. It was crispy & and melty; I could have eaten 3 more. Portions are surprisingly small. I got the Norwegian Salmon, and it was arguably the best one I've ever tried (again, surprisingly small portion). My wife got the 14 oz New York Strip; this was the proper portion I was expecting. Also, the steak was phenomenal! It was cooked so perfectly with a delicious crust, and the hollandaise paired well with the fried potatoes. However, the seared onions looked great but were cold, so it was off-putting. We tried a Tiki Makai (mocktails), it was sweet, tropical & refreshing. For dessert, we ordered the Strawberry Shortcake with Chai Chantilly(whipped cream), so fresh & delicious. They even wrote happy anniversary on the plate for us. Overall, the experience was so great, and the atmosphere was perfect for our special night. Last note, be prepared to PAY for this experience. After tip, we were over $180, and I listed everything we ordered, including drinks.

Dined here as a couple for my girlfriends birthday. She was in from out of town and I had this place recommended to me by multiple sources as one of the higher end restaurants in state college. First red flag was a 3/4 pour on my beer, which was followed up by a subpar bread and appetizer course. We got the Prawns which were over seasoned, covered in an extremely oily sauce, and lukewarm by the time we ate them. Our second course was a slight improvement on the first, however the quality on a steak worth 60 dollars should be supreme, and ours was comparable to a Texas Roadhouse. Our sides were bland and did not compliment the strip well. We did not stay for dessert. Prices are ridiculous for quality served.

This is consistently the best dining experience in State College. We’ve been a few times and the level or service and quality of the menu never disappoints. These people are extremely good at what they do.
Dietary restrictions: Our waiter, John, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable and able to recommend dishes or explain ingredients.

Truly fine dining, hidden in State College. Come ahead of your reservation and enjoy the gorgeous and well stocked bar. Dinner was amazing, and I highly recommend the appetizers and desserts. Amazing, kind, and attentive staff. I'll definitely be back!
Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible from parking lot to table, spacious restrooms.

Not what it used to be. Grace has been our "go to" restaurant for special occasions in State College for years. They seem to have made some changes though, and it's not for the better. During our most recent visit, the service was poor with the server never even introducing himself. My wife and I actually thought that he was a busser or runner until he asked to take our order. It literally took him 5 minutes to open a bottle of sparkling wine and he did a poor job of attending to his tables. The prices have gone up significantly since the last time we were there, however the menu selection has declined. The dining room has been rearranged to fit more tables, so it's not as "intimate" of a setting. With the new arrangement all of the tables have at least half of the seats as a "booth" style and the first table we were put in was actually straddling two booth benches, so I was sitting on a strange bar down my backside. We asked to be moved because it was quite uncomfortable.
With higher prices, poor service, less than exciting menu and mediocore atmosphere, this is certainly no longer our favorite State College restaurant. In fact, I doubt we'll return.
