Cool decor, especially the murals on the high ceilings. Waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good but not great, as was the bock beer I got. We (three of us) ordered an onion ring appetizer to share and there were only six onion rings. Seemed rather overpriced for the quality of food, too.

I’m really disappointed in how the manager behaved after we waited an hour and a half for our food! Here’s what happened…

My sister reserved an area for our large party to eat after my nephews graduation. There were 28 of us so they split us into 3 tables. No problem, we knew we had a big party and were fine sitting at different tables because they were right next to each other. We arrived at 11:30, there were barely any patrons in the restaurant, but it started to get busy after we ordered. After about 30 minutes one of our tables (of about 10 people) gets their food. We figure the remaining 18 should be coming out. Mind you, 9 of those meals were kids meals of either chicken tenders, pizza and a burger. Another 20 minutes pass by and still no food. We ask the waitress to check on it and she says she’ll bring out anything that is ready. We asked if she could bring the kids meals out because they were hungry. She goes back to the kitchen and comes back empty handed. Said it’s still being worked on. Another 20 minutes go by. The people who got their food in our party were already finished eating! My BIL goes to find a manager to ask what may be the hold up. We had at this point waited almost an hour after the first group got their food. And as we were waiting, two tables of 6 people each right next to us, all ordered, ate and left!

Finally the manager comes over…actually she couldn’t be bothered to come over to our table. Instead, she stood around the corner with her hands on her hips, looking irritated and says, “You do know we have a downstairs too right? And we are really busy. You see that right? Your ticket is next.” No ‘I’m sorry for the wait.’ No, ‘We appreciate your patience, we know it’s taking a while’. No acknowledging that the children were crying and asking why everyone else got their food even those that arrived well after us. Nothing. Just attitude and rudeness. The waitress was sweet and we told her none of it was her fault and that we just wished her manager was not rude to us because we dare inquired why half our party got their food a whole hour ahead of us? If Lisa, the manager is reading this. You probably shouldn’t be in customer service.

Best burgers I’ve ever had, demolished that thing.

The beers were all really good the food was just ok at best. The burger patties are small and look prebought but maybe the patties are made? We got the gruyere grilled cheese and the cheese wasn't even melted. The wings were good, we asked for well done, next time I will say extra well done but the flavor was great. One person got the half chicken entree and loved it. The atmosphere and vibe was good. In the future this is a beer and app place made I will try the chili or some simple stuff.

My son and I had dinner at the Happy Valley brewing company with a few others. I loved the vibe in the basement and decor was cool. The live music addition was great as well! We had a mix of appetizers (wings, onion rings, etc) that were pretty tasty. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich which I thought was well prepared and not too big. The bread was just right. My son wasn't thrilled with his hamburger though. The bun was too hard so it made it hard to eat the burger. He liked the lemonade though! Great selection on the menu so I'm sure we'll be back.

Met some of my gal pals for lunch here today and ordered 'The Salesman' which was basically a tuna melt with lettuce, tomato, onion, and melted fontina cheese. I asked that the balsamic vinaigrette be on the side because I had heard the sandwich can often be doused in it. The sandwich came loaded with tuna salad, so much so that globs of it fell out of the bread. No complaints here! It was good!

The Captain Crush, a very citrusy pilsner, was quite lemony and refreshing. Our server, Kat, was very attentive. And the overall ambiance, from the beautiful decor to the extremely comfortable chairs led to a very enjoyable experience.

Two dining rooms upstairs is quieter but downstairs is a cool basement bar. Beers are really good and the menu has something for everyone. Great place to hang out while visiting PSU!

First time here. The owner should be ashamed of there selves. Went to this place today waiter messed up order several times, we figured he was new so we were understanding of the situation asked for our bill and paid but I realized the bill was wrong we paid for $80 and our bill was supposed to be $190 I realized he made a mistake and brought it up to his attention, was trying to do the right thing. He mentioned there was no manager and they could not void transaction and there was nothing he could do but wait until manager decided to call back… I was like are you serious? I did not have time to wait, then I told him since they had deducted $80 I would pay balance in cash and then they could figure it out, but at least I did my job in paying. Sent my husband to ATM to go take out $100 so I could pay the difference. As he returns I get notified manager decided to call back and they would be recharging the $190 honestly totally not ok seemed everyone was new and there was no leadership in the building, how is that possible?? Wanted to speak to someone and couldn’t. Definitely will let my customers know not to go to this establishment I have money pending there is $400 in limbo and won’t know what really is getting charged until Monday. Terrible way to inconvenience your guest!

The food was ok but pricey. Went with a group of coworkers for lunch and was surprised to find that there was a $5 charge PER GUEST to split the check. That might be the most State College thing I've ever heard of (and there have been some doozies over the years). The place was mostly empty at lunch so it boggles my mind why they would actively try to give people a reason to not come back but there you have it....

I had potato soup that was thin and no potato even the server commended on it being thin. I also ordered BLT and it was so saturated in butter I couldn’t eat it . The lavender lemonade was very good .

After multiple visits, I’d say the best part of this place is the atmosphere. The food looks upscale but is just okay and overpriced. Service was fine, and the beer was decent. I’d probably only return for the live music.

Such a great vibe, especially downstairs! Chicken is AMAZING! The team is always friendly and does a wonderful job running the establishment!

We came on a Tuesday night, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and cozy.

Great service and atmosphere during our visit today! Poison apple cocktail, Happy Pilz beer, and pretzel bites with beer cheese app were all very good. Sandwiches (tuna melt pictured and spicy salmon cake sandwich not pictured) were decent but lacked flavor/condiments, so not bad but not something we’d order again. Would still recommend a visit for all the positives!
