Talk about a hidden gem and state college… this was by far the best Ramen I’ve ever had… the owner. James was so welcoming, friendly, and even gave us some complementary cucumber salad, and even gave us some cheesecake bites at the end… we had the spicy Beef Ramen bowl… He really was the most nicest guy he was super helpful and even did less spicy in mine because I am a sissy lol…
It’s good if you just want to take photos for instagram and leave later. When you dig in it’s bland…
If you’re seeking authentic you might want to look elsewhere
Service was pretty good tho the guys are nice but nice doesn’t make good ramen
I visited this restaurant with my family after my brother’s graduation ceremony and ordered three pork ramen and two spicy beef ramen. Unfortunately, the meal completely ruined our dinner experience.
The noodles were mushy and broke apart instantly in the mouth. It was honestly one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had. I believe the kitchen was well aware that they could not serve this kind of noodle. From what I can tell, they may have run out of proper ramen noodles and substituted them with hibachi stir-fry noodles instead. Despite this, they still charged nearly $20 per bowl, which is unacceptable.
Serving food of this quality shows a lack of respect for customers. I truly hope this kind of situation doesn’t happen again in the future.
The ramen was delicious, and the owner James was very hospitable. He even brought us some extra dessert. I’ve been in state college for 4 years and only came here once. I wish I would have went sooner.
A friend and I went here and got the pork ramen and the crab Rangoon sushi, the sushi was the best I’d ever had and the ramen was very good. Service was also good and our server was helpful.
Amazing food and staff! Highly recommend!
The food was fire and the service was quick/great get the spicy beef ramen if you go here
The food was great and the service was absolutely phenomenal. We had a ramen and a sushi bowl. They gave us an appetizer and dessert on the house to try which were also very very good. So glad we stopped here!!
We stopped by Kokoro during a day out with friends, not really sure what to expect—just hoping for some good ramen. What we got was way more than that. From the moment we walked in, the owner (wish we’d caught his name!) made us feel completely welcome and taken care of.
We all ordered different ramen—pork, beef, chicken, mushroom—and every single one was amazing. The broth was rich and flavorful, honestly some of the best we’ve had. We added some egg rolls and sushi, which were great, and then the owner surprised us with shrimp tempura and dumplings—just because. That kind of hospitality isn’t something you forget.
We’re still talking about how good everything was. And while we were sitting there enjoying our food, we saw a constant stream of people picking up takeout—clearly this place is no secret. We're from Cleveland, but Kokoro is absolutely on our list for the next time we’re back in State College. Highly recommend it if you’re in the area and craving something really good.
Best place in state college. Fantastic sushi, fantastic ramen, and even better service. Absolute great people that work here.

The food here is UNBELIEVABLE, not to mention the service. Randomly stopped in, absolutely blown away by several “complimentary” dishes including dessert! Highly recommend!
Incredible staff. Always treated with care. Well priced food with big portions and very tasty. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
My boyfriend and I came the other night after being out at bars. Late night sushi may not be the best idea, but I am a huge sushi lover. I got the veggie spring rolls, gyoza, and salmon sushi. The springs rolls were fine, the gyoza were ok but had a very interesting taste to them that seemed odd to me. But my salmon sushi was absolutely horrible. I eat salmon a lot and this tasted like it was days old just sitting out. Will not be coming back here.
The best place to eat good and quality food in state college
