Absolutely fantastic place. The food was great, portions were very impressive, and we had very kind and attentive service. I had a very pleasant birthday here with my family and hope to visit again soon. I'd highly recommend Kokoro to anyone in the area.

I don't enjoy leaving a negative review, particularly for a place that explicitly offers free meals to people in need. But this place weirded me out. My family visited on a whim after reading an abundance of rave reviews.
Everything feels off here enough to set off mental alarm bells. The space seems like it has been abandoned recently and doubles as storage, including large garbage bins being stored indoors and fruit flies around the tables. The dining area sits opposite a wall of cardboard boxes. The workers were friendly and helpful, so I can't in good faith give one star to a place that is seemingly trying. All this would be excusable if the food were great. But the food itself is prepackaged supermarket frozen food being reheated and upsold at retail prices.
It isn't offensively bad, it's just bad. Everything was edible and familiar enough. The baozi were not fully heated through. The momos were piping hot but tasted like reheated from frozen. The seaweed salad didn't taste fresh enough to feel safe to eat. We were the only diners in the place and the quiet was off-putting.
I hope the people running the place and working there can get it together and turn things around. I was impressed by their commitment to feeding people in need of a meal and if they can sort out hygiene and meeting a quality of product that meets the price point I would happily eat my words.
Maybe it is just the kinda place that exists for students to doordash when in need of a bite. But if you're going out to eat, you have much better options in town.

We walked in first thing on a Saturday getting lunch on a road trip and were greeted warmly with a complimentary appetizer on the table! The broth is fantastic, the crunchy chili oil is perfection and we loved the crispy tofu in the vegan curry ramen and miso ramen. We were gifted some veggie spring rolls and delicious cheesecake bites for our friends. Amazing hospitality, almost too generous, very lovely, thank you.

2nd time ordering and best food in State College!! I got steak and shrimp ramen with double meat to have leftovers, it is just as good second day! Shrimp and crab fries are phenomenal! Save a little bit of ramen juice for the fries heated up and wow! Great, friendly service! Could order there every day! Thank you so much!!!

Had a great time today with h a friend of mine. We had roast chicken ramen, pork ramen, shrimp rolls, pork dumplings, beef buns, and shrimp and crab fries. All the food was delicious. They offered a cucumber starter at no cost, and three cheesecake bites at no cost after finishing our meal. The swtvic was fast and very friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with the ramen (and all the apps), we will be back! Thank you for your service and kindness!

I feel bad leaving this review but this is the worst ramen we have had. The pork was BBQ style and made the ramen sweet. I don’t understand the reviews with 5 stars. They were friendly but it didn’t not make up for the food quality.

Hidden gem in state college. We were visiting after a hockey game and decided to try the ramen here. The meat in it was phenomenal and flavorful. We were greeted and brought cucumbers to the table. The sushi roll was huge and delicious. They brought fries out for my son because he’s picky and didn’t know what he’d like as well as complimentary cheesecake bites at the end that were delicious. All of the staff members were very friendly. Will be back!!
