Lupitas Authentic Mexican Food

I have been dining at Lupitas for years. The food is better than any other mexican food in State College. I have never been disappointed with a meal.

Waited in the car while my son went in to pick up, but the guy on the phone took my order competently and cheerfully, and the food - as always - was quite good. One tip: if you get the tamales, eat them ASAP, they do NOT get better sitting around!

Parking: If you're getting takeout, plan to drop someone to make the pickup and circle the block.

Do not go here! The food is not authentic and I was wildly underwhelmed with the service at the establishment. Orders were mixed up and the staff had no clue what they were doing. My food was served on paper plates and my empanadas were disappointing to say the least. They were dry and tasted worse than a reheated Taquitos.

Good variety of Mexican dishes. Meals were ready quickly, good and fresh. Appears to do more business as takeout than dine-in. No table service, order at the counter, meals delivered to your table, bus your own table after eating. No alcohol available but BYO is OK.

Went here my first time for dinner with a couple of friends. I ordered the beef tacos but unfortunately, the beef was so salty that I had to throw my plate away. I was extremely disappointed and won’t return again.

When I need something tasty, filling and full of flavor, I walk myself down to Lupita’s. My go-to order is either the carnitas king quesadilla or carnitas tacos. It wouldn't be true joy if you didn't consume your plate full of happiness with horchata or a crisp Diet Coke.

It's not giving.

Take it from a Mexican-American... no! It's not authentic. I guess it is true, the further you are from the Mexican border, the less authentic the food becomes.

I had a slight arguement with the cashier, who seems to be confused about the word Tamales. If it ends in -es it is more than 1, if you just get one, than it is a Tamal.

Their Horchata is probably Klass which is not authentic and definetely gross.

The food is very delicious but the meat for the tacos is very little. I ordered luengos and they barely gave me any.

Great tacos and the salsa's had a good variety and flavor to them. Highly recommend

This place is fantastic! It's as authentic as you can get. The tortillas are incredible. The flavor is packed into the meat like magic. They have tons of toppings you can choose from in the metal side cart. I recommend the homemade hot sauce but be prepared for some heat!!
