One of the best fried chicken places in State College. Used to order-in but visited the place recently and the staff are too nice, they check upon our experience and provide extra dips/sauces or do something to make our experience better. They are planning on getting new additions to the menu and are very friendly with asking for suggestions. Great place!

The Waker Chicken, previously known as Koop, once offered hot fried chicken wings that my wife and I loved. However, they removed them from the menu after a short period. When I heard about this new spot, Hot Chick, I was excited but a bit wary after reading reviews about their grand opening, mentioning wrong orders and undercooked meat. Despite that, my wife and I decided to give it a try today, and we had an absolutely great experience.
The price of the fried chicken was very reasonable. We got 10 pieces of chicken for $18 and a salmon wrap for $14. Although the fried chicken took some time, it was exactly what we hoped for. When they ran out of salmon, they gave us a tilapia wrap instead. The person serving us kindly offered to compensate us with extra chicken, a drink, or fries. We chose fries, and they gave us a whole box of crispy ones.
The portions were very generous—we even had leftovers for dinner. I will definitely be coming back for more, but next time I’ll probably order online to save time.

Came here w my family after a football game. The food was delicious everything was fried to order hot and yummy. My kids loved it too. The owner was so welcoming and kind offering us extra drinks and really went out of his way to make sure our meal was great. We will be back next time we’re in town !
