They charged me $1 for salad dressing for my salad. I get it’s just a dollar, but come on! Salad dressing is supposed to come with a salad. I won’t be back.
$7 for a liter of beer during happy hour 4-6pm. 🍺
The Corner Room is an institution and part of the Hotel State College. The website hasn't been updated in 2 months. tried to go on Graduation Sunday (Fall 2024) and were told they are closed at 5pm on a Sunday. Website says 7:30 on Sundays, Facebook didn't mention about them closing early. The website menu and online ordering menu do not match, items or ingredients for the dame dish.
In the past three months the place seems to have gone under new (poor) management. The portion sizes have diminished (eg. onion dip and chips) and they removed quality items from the menu (shrimp and grits). The chili was warm at best and they got new cornbread which was a smaller and less hearty portion. To top it off, the manager came to our to table to deliver the food, and when I stopped him to ask him for some items, he pretty much blew me off like he didn’t want to serve us and said he would let the waiter know. He set her up for failure; she came to our table and had no idea of our request.
Service was so slow but we were comped because of the 1 1/2 hour wait but the food was first rate. Because the manager treated us so well, we would go back.
Very delicious food and wonderful service! It’s a very beautiful restaurant to visit!

Getting their skillets (with 2 eggs) and grilled stickies is just perfect for anytime. English muffins are tasty and I enjoyed the window seats a lot.

Reasonable prices with a small but interesting menu set in a historic building in the middle of State College.

Food was above average, we had the corned beef hash and chicken alfredo. I appreciated that what we got were healthy options. The staff were friendly, although it could be because it was move in day at Penn State that it was super busy, people in line for brunch, seats filled up hectically. The atmosphere was great, the building was built in 1855 and just across Penn State University, very close to all the shops and where all things were happening.

Typical American restaurant with tasty food and reasonable prices. The shakes are very delicious so save some room for dessert.

Nice eatery, the prime rib sandwich was delicious. The waitress, forgot her name, was amazing with the grandkiddies. Prices were good.

Crab cake sandwich was delicious. Mocktails were phenomenal for the non-drinkers.
