This was my first time at the Gardens. We went for the brunch buffet. There were so many amazing options. Everything was very clean and organized. The atmosphere was great and service was above and beyond! Our waitress Judy was on top of everything and so nice!! 10/10 recommend! Total was about $67 (plus gratuity) for two people for the brunch buffet and endless non-alcoholic beverages.

Food is good but service is a bit slow. Seems to be understaffed.

We went for Sunday buffet (not brunch). For $18/person, I feel like there’s some improvement that could be made. The eggs were kind of dry, sausage wasn’t great, and potatoes were hard. The creamery cream cheese was excellent & we liked the blueberry pancakes though. Overall, I’ve had better breakfast at chain hotels that was complementary, sadly. Our waitress was fabulous and service was great. For what it’s worth, I disliked seeing the uncovered small pitchers of cream at every table that sit out 2-3 hours every day. Cream was also available near the juices. Either ask if it’s needed or only set it out at some of the tables so it doesn’t sit out too long and get bacteria/food/spittle in it.

Not the same since PSU sold it. More money and less quality. Won't go back.

Service - excellent; food - very good; arranging our group dinner - poor. Details that should have been taken care of by restaurant mgmt. were left to the diners.
I came half hour before closing. However scrambled eggs were already dry, fruit bowl had barely any fruit salad in it and it did not taste fresh at all. I had to pay almost $20 for this co called buffet. Very disappointing.

This was always our favorite place to celebrate/go for special occasions so we went for the Father's Day brunch; there were 5 of us. They mixed up my dad's made-to-order omelette with someone elses....seemed like kind of a cluster from order to finish. The prime rib was cold, hot lunch entrees choices were less than appealing, the fresh fruit was NOT fresh (brown around the edges esp. the pineapple), the French brioche toast was dry, the desserts were all stale except for the ice cream (which I assumed is still PS Creamery ice cream?). The hot egg entrees, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and mini Belgian waffles were all "pretty good".WAY overpriced and won't return anytime soon ?

Everything we ate was delicious and the entire buffet was kept very well stocked. Our water glasses were both dirty, but the server noticed right away and took care of getting us new ones. We’d go again!
Checked in and went up to the room. Door was propped open so I didn’t go in. I was at the hotel for a conference and at the next break called the front desk. Explained the situation and asked if they could go check and make sure the room was ready. Arrived back to room after 7 door was still propped open and the room was disgusting. Bathroom was covered in hair and night stands were dirty. A coworker had similar experience. Will not stay again.
First restaurant visit with our 3 months old!Had a great brunch at The Gardens Restaurant At The Penn Stater. This was the first time we were venturing out all together with our 3 months old son. The food was great as always, Lamb gravy being unanimously the show stopper for everyone. I love their cheesecake and all the other bakery items as well. The experience was great because apart from food it was super easy to go there with an infant. They had an infant car seat cradle, something which we didn’t even know about (Our plan was to put him in the stroller near a corner table) which made keeping an eye on the baby a lot easier. When the baby started getting a bit uncomfortable in his seat, we could walk him around in the galleries and lobby of the hotel, which came really handy.Overall, A+ food and experience, great place for taking infants ??!

Went for Sunday brunch. Disappointed after reading reviews. Was not impressed with the options. Bread horrible dry. Salad had bad lettuce had to dig through to make sure found fresh pieces. Food was lacking flavor. It was on par for a hotel buffet but certainly did not think it was worth the price.
