Didn’t have any trouble with the bouncers. Walked up the steps, got in and went to the bar. The service was kinda slow for how many people were in the bar. A lot of people dancing and singing. The DJ was playing some good music. Didn’t see anyone getting kicked out or screamed at. Honestly just seemed like you could do anything in the bar. The vibe was super high energy. There were people sitting at tables and on the window sill. Would definitely come back on a ‘less’ busy night.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Walked up the stairs with a buddy, grabbed my ID out of my wallet and a 20 year old bouncer came over on a power trip and wouldn’t let me in for no reason. I literally thought it was a joke at first. Had some friends inside the bar they said the beer was warm and service was as bad as it could possibly get. There are a lot of fun bars in state college so save yourself some time by not going to this one. The arrogance of the three bouncers in their low 20s was ridiculous. I’m sure this could be a cool bar if it weren’t for the terrible staff.

Whenever I visit my brother at Penn State from my school in Florida, I always look forward to Gaffeyoke Wednesdays. After trying most of the bars in State College, The Shandygaff is definitely my favorite. The drinks are fairly priced, the layout is great, and the crowd is always friendly.
It can get crowded and karaoke wait times are long, but the fun atmosphere makes it worth it. Definitely a spot I’d recommend!

Had a great time on a Friday evening. Lots of drink specials and plenty of music. They have some weird camera system when they check your ID but that wasn’t a big deal. Plenty of staff slinging drinks. Seem like the place is run by a bunch of college kids, so that may become a problem.

Overcrowded and loud with little room to do anything. Staff was rude and my friend’s girlfriend was kicked out right after we got there for being intoxicated when that was our first drink of the night. My friend asked what was happening and the ginger bouncer got incredibly hostile towards him.

Worst experience I’ve had at a bar in state college. I got in and purchased one drink and then walked over to a table with a group of my friends. Didn’t even finish half of my drink and the male bouncer came over to me and told me to get out. When I asked why he screamed in my face and told me to get out because I was “leaning” which didn’t even make any sense. My one friend went out with me and we were waiting for the rest of the group to finish their drinks. My friend inside said he watched the same bouncer go up to other groups of girls and scream at them until there were tears in their eyes and kicked them out. Seems like they just want to get as many people in there as possible, let them buy a drink, and then kick them out to make money.

The bald ginger bearded man has some type of power control thing going on . Didn't allow me in the bar after my i.d. was scanned in and said I'm banned . Literally my second time ever coming here and never had gotten into trouble

Great music, love the light up floor and the Ninja Turtle/ Pink Lemonade were AMAZING. I had a great time here with my friends, cover fee was reasonable and bar is well staffed therefore we didn’t have to wait too long for our drinks.
Quite literally the worst bar I’ve ever been to. It was extremely crowded for no reason, making it impossible to get drinks. Staff were very rude and the atmosphere was not enjoyable. If you’re in state college go to any other bar, there are plenty of good ones.

Illegally denied me entry into the bar because the new hard copy of my renewed license hasn’t come in yet. Provided them with the temporary license proof including the valid barcode and didn’t accept it. I haven’t had a problem with ANY other place. Extremely rude about it, dismissed me, and ignored me. You don’t treat people like this. Awful people and I don’t recommend this place.

An ugly guy with glasses kicked out a young beautiful couple for dancing. He told them that they were being disruptive and making out but they didn’t make out at all and were just enjoying their time! Will not be coming back! It ruined the whole vibe
