Don't clean bathrooms. Toilets overflowing with sewage and employees just shrug shoulders when told about it. Unsafe and unsanitary. One bonus star for cheap alcohol price but you'll need to be blacked out if you have to use the bathroom.

I would rather go to the den than drink at the gaff. I watched the ginger kid with glasses kick out at least 5 different people in the short time I was there for absolutely no reason. Has the aesthetic of a dive bar but none of the charm, and the karaoke sucks. You’re better off drinking at home ??

Kicked out for no reason, literally sitting at a table by myself trying to enjoy my pitcher. Bouncer said I was acting creepy and touching woman inappropriately ( I don't know anyone and the whole time kelt to myself) I ask to futher elaborate on what he ment cause I was legitimately confused and he wouldn't expand. Just Kicked me out. Shame

They discriminate here . If you are a minority make sure you don’t go alone or better yet don’t go at all . They will find a reason to kick you out

This rating is appropriate if you understand the context. This establishment is of the "dive bar" ilk and I state that with much affection. We entered on a slow night and the bar tender came over to us immediately. We asked if they could make an Old Fashioned and he shared they would have to use sugar instead since they don't have simply syrup. This isn't a craft cocktail establishment so we agreed and our drinks were served. Total Cost $6, or $3 per drink.Was it the best Old Fashioned we ever tasted? uh, no! However, it was drinkable and for the price unrivaled.I could even stretch to a '5' rating if there was a garnish along with the cocktail.Well done Shandygaff. Keep it up!

The bouncers are known to be overly aggressive and violent for no reason. Weird and kinda sad power trip. Trying to calmly reason with them doesn't work because they're moro/ns.
Overall, not really sure why a 60 year old woman needed her ID. Not like she looked like she was under the age of 21. She looks like she was in her 40s. But not under 21. We waited in line for over a half hour to hangout with our mom tonight for her to have a horrible night because of this bar! Absolutely horrible! I heard some nasty things about this bar. Too bad this bar didn't go out of business and that we still had indigo.

If you have any respect for diversity and all people deserve equal respectful treatment----avoid this place like the plague!This was my first and LAST time at "The Shandygaff". Nothing like starting the night at the WRONG bar! My friends and I were intially ignored for 10-15 minutes. We eventually were "greeted" by Mitch. Mitch is apparently the manager. We attempted to order a drink and Mitch, with his "unforgettable service", decided to argue with us about what we were ordering.The intital drink we ordered was pink/red with coconut rum in it. Mitch felt it was necessary to use foul language and assert that he knew it did not have coconut rum. He was extremely rude.I must note, we (the 3 of us) were minorities and he was caucasian.We expressed our dislike with his attitude and uncalled lack of respect; and he decided to use more foul language and then had the bouncer remove us from the establishment.This place needs new management asap.Terrible service, terrible drinks and undesirable treatment. Not a place you want to visit to have a "good time".This establishment does not uphold the Penn State-State College mission statement nor their culture.Dear Mitch...the year is 2022; time to evolve and grow up!

I had 4 drinks and got kicked out. Karaoke set up was discombobulated, the Bouncer was quite rude and made snide remarks towards patrons, bartenders were very attentive but getting kicked out before a good buzz and a karaoke song is pretty disheartening. Would not recommend for anyone trying to have a fun night

The Shandygaff is simply known as Gaff. The name of this bar reminds me of an episode of Always Sunny when Frank opens a bar named Shadynasty's. The owner of this place is one laid back cigar puffing dude but his bread baking brother is always up to some stuff...like 80's wolf of wall street business practicing scruff. Either way this place runs off of nickles, dimes, quarters, beers, jeers, cheers and dollar dollar bills ya'll. The Gaff has a storage locker entrance appearance that leads in to a basement bar where patrons have to go upstairs to get in to it...like I said Always Sunny ruff.
