You might pay a little more here compared to the 3 other major grocery chains but the freshness, variety and guarantee of satisfaction are worth it. The international foods selections continue to expand. There is a made to order food section for pizzas, hoagies and sushi with many other hot and cold bar items available. A varied selection of fresh butchered meats, poultry, fish, deli and cheese and fresh baked goods with knowledgeable staff ready to answer questions and take

I'm not sure why Wegmans comes up twice on yelp, they only have one Wegmans in State College . That said I already have a glowing review and have mentioned to more than one person how if I can only shop in one grocery store for the rest of my life it would be Wegmans. This review, however, is about their pizza. The price has just recently gone up, I believe it is like 1150 for a pizza. I love good pizza and I'm on a quest to find it. I've been to every pizza place that I know of in State College and I find Wegmans to have the best pizza. It's cheesy, without being overly salty, you can taste the sauce and it's very flavorful without being too zesty which some people might not like, it's just perfect. You can go into Wegmans and buy one slice, or a whole pizza, and then sit down in the Dining area and have a nice little lunch. If you are looking for something for everyone, they are hot food / salad bar is perfection. Everything from potstickers and every choice for salad, to meatloaf and mashed potatoes or wings!

If I could give 500 stars I would. Everything about Wegmans makes me happy -- and I suspect you'll be happy too. Prices are reasonable, store is always clean, workers are happy, and produce is the best in town!!!!!

I was not expecting to find a Wegmans in State College, but I was glad to be proven wrong. Everything was exactly as I expected in terms of quality, prices, and service. I was not able to check out the dining area at this particular one, though I'm sure it's just as good as elsewhere. One thing I was surprised to see was a large amount of dairy - a variety of milk and chocolate milk, for example, on display in refrigerated "bins" in the front of the store. That's not a preferred way to refrigerate something like dairy, and I'd always opt for getting it from the refrigerated cases in the back. This was the first Wegmans at which I got to try their self-checkout as well. I found it easier to use than those of other grocery and department stores. I'll probably never get a Wegman's near where I live, so it's always nice to visit them when I travel.

The best grocery store based bakery around! Fantastic high quality fresh products. Wonderful fresh breads, many different kinds of pies, cookies, bagels, muffins and the premium cakes are delicious! Always a great selection to choose from and reasonable prices for the high quality. Friendly staff to answer any questions. Plus they restock continually throughout the day. Highly recommended.

Dearest Wegmans, I know you hail from the land of Rochester, NY but the east coast folks who know and love you on the west coast could use your amazingness. For reals. I have been a shopper at Wegmans ever since I was a poor little freshman college student at Gannon University in Erie. I'm pretty sure it took an entire month's worth of work study pay to afford my bougie groceries but I didn't care. My bougie blood runs deep when it comes to groceries. Fast forward to present times... anytime I'm back home I've gotta get me some Wegmans. I don't care if I don't even eat/drink it. Imma buy it and share it! You want some craft beer? Okay, I got you! And now they sell wine? In the grocery store?!? When did State College get so modern with the times?!?!? Last time I was there (couple weeks ago) they had a wine tasting... I about died! Was I teleported back west? It was so nice to see a wine rep in a grocery store in PA! I was super surprised at the transformation of the hot and cold bars! Wow! I'm not really a fan of buffet types of settings... but everything is right there if you are! Besides their amazing bakery... the sushi... and cheese... and fish... and antipasto... everything is so affordable. It really, really is. When I compare what I pay in WA for Whole Foods... yinz got it made! I wish we had Wegmans on the west coast... maybe someday!

Wegmans, I really and truly love you. I've always liked going grocery shopping, but when I visit you, it's almost therapeutic. Also I almost always go after 10pm, so thank god you're open 24 hours. Wegmans is what my aunt calls "adventure shopping" - they offer your typical produce and selection, but also some more exotic and locally sourced goods (as well as things prepped fresh that day, like cut and prepared veggies, fresh squeezed juice, etc). Also, they offer family sizes for a lot of their stuff (veggies, cheese, meat, etc) so it surprisingly makes buying better quality stuff not that much more expensive (I've actually found that buying meat here tends to be cheaper overall than shopping at Weiss or Giants, but YMMV). Also Wegman's brand tends to be affordable and really great quality, no matter what it is. While you're there, might as well check out the ample food section (esp if you're there during normal work hours). Snag a fresh loaf of bread or a baguette for me - you won't regret it. Bonus: there's an app with weekly coupons if you're into that (usually for the prepared produce or marinated meats), and also their reusable shopping bags are well worth the small investment (you get a free one if you sign up for a rewards card). Happy shopping!

Great bread, cookies, pastries, and all kinds of deserts. The bread is always high quality and very good. It is on the more pricey side but still affordable and the quality comes with a price. The cookies are also very good and theres quite the selection of baked good in addition to bread and cookies.

I love Wegmans and always stop if I find one. Naturally I was delighted to see one in State College. I couldn't get the buffet line as it was after 9:00 P.M. and closing for the night. Still I got some sesame chicken and rice and also purchased some egg rolls. Even though I had to eat it cold the chicken and rice were excellent and the egg roll was great as well (even the next day without being heated) However the store lacked a seating area with TVs. I've been to several Wegmans and never saw one without a seating area. So my car became my dinner table. It's OK because the pre prepared meals are good enough to make up for it.

Seriously awesome food store that always has great and new interesting things. Sushi, subs, and beer selection are all very good.

My favorite grocery store of all time. Best selections, great pricing, friendly staff. I wish there were more of these in the US.

I went here once in the summertime just after sunset to get a Sierra mist & the cashier person was in such a hurry to scan the 2 liter bottle she knocked it over, causing the soda to get shook up, making it to lose carbonation, which is probably the worst possible catastrophe to ever happen to anyone, anywhere, ever. Although, that event has never happened again despite the only register open after midnight typically being lane 13, which is allegedly an unlucky number & intentionally being done in a deliberate attempt to deter shoppers with Triskaidekaphobia from the store during 3rd shift hours. Otherwise, all supermarkets are relatively similar, selling food items arranged according to food groups & on occasion any supermarket may seem identical to another supermarket-mega-store in certain locations, like the cereal aisle is basically identical at every major grocery store.

Wegman's is by far my favorite grocery store. Not only in the area but country wide. They have a wonderful selection of craft beers (my favorite is the make your own six pack), sushi grade fish (which is hard to find in Central Pennsylvania), a huge artisan cheese and meat section, a nice selection of bulk items, homemade breads and desserts, a hot bar with flavors from all over the world, a nicely stocked produce section with beautiful fruits and vegetables, and pretty much anything you could think of. They also have a good selection of ready to cook food items such as pizza, breaded cod, lobster mac & cheese, stuffed pork chops, and more. You can't go wrong shopping here.
