I ordered a few dinners for takeout very disappointed no gravy on turkey dinner or roast beef dinner after spending over $70

The highlight of my trip. My research included Sally’s Country Inn as a must try and on Tuesday night because closed on Monday. The drive from Top of the 80’s was on beautiful roads around the westerly landscape appreciated from above. Car navigation was a savior because of its nestled location. Plenty of parking on the lot across the street. Entrance on the corner up the red wood ramp. I paused at the ‘wait to be seated’ sign and beside me were immediate memories of my in-laws with the American 🇺🇸 (her birthday) above the Yuengling bottle (his fave). While being seated I passed some mighty good looking pizzas enroute to the side room. Perfect table for me, beside an oversized window to watch the local traffic that included a tractor. Each room was immaculate with variations of country theme, similar to Mom’s.

Unsweetened tea was delivered quickly, regardless I was ready to order as the menu review was just a verification. Potato cakes appetizer followed by the intriguing pretzel crusted chicken entree. Side of mashed potatoes. And two more vegetables too? Apple sauce +cinnamon and pass…

The 3 potato cakes were shaped like little apple cider donuts. These are perfect with an outside crunch and a soft middle with a hint of onion flavor all through. I’d buy a half dozen…

Without any previous reviews for the pretzel chicken entree, I was surprised to receive a huge chicken steak with large bowls of mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and country gravy. One slice of the chicken revealed a hot and tender breast that was much higher than average thickness. One bite and I was overjoyed. The juicy chicken complimented by the mildly crunchy baked breading was further heightened by a butter cheese sauce. Yes, butter cheese sauce of rich cheddar. Every bite divine. The super waitress said this meal often sells out. No surprise. This was easily one of my top ten meals ever. Seriously. This is DDD Guy Fieri good. Eat it between potato cakes ! If not the best meal on the menu, there is a lot of great to try. The mash and apple sauce were also great. I couldn’t possibly finish it all. After two days in the fridge, the breading still maintained its crunch. Great reheat.

Tuesday night was not busy. Waitress was wonderful. This was a relaxing and memorable meal. I highly recommend.

Sally Pursell’s Country Inn is a quaint bar & restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The fish & chips is decent, I recommend it. My buddy always gets the turkey platter. They serve RC Cola instead of coke or Pepsi.

Waitress was fantastic, food was OK. Bread was amazing. Got beer battered fish, not a fan but my daughter loved her ham meal and my granddaughter loved her chicken fingers

Our dinner was wonderful tender flavorful delicious roast beef amazing homemade gravy and mashed potatoes loved the coleslaw! Highly recommend and will definitely go back
