Adorable place, and the hot chocolate / coffee combo is great too. And half the price they'd charge at a starbucks. Will stop in next time I'm in the area!

A+++! An absolute diamond of a Cat Cafe in the middle of Pennsylvania Coal Country. Owners Kim & Ron have created a safe, spotlessly clean, bright and fun environment for the rescue cats awaiting adoption and the guests! The cats were calm, sociable and well cared for. All available for adoption. The cappuccinos and latttes rival the best of European capitals. A cat lovers gift area with original pins, jewelry and mugs. This cafe is run with a lot of love and hard work. Completely worth the drive from nyc and Philadelphia. I can’t wait to visit again.

What a wonderful concept! The cats are so well taken care of and are truly at peace as they wait for their fur-ever home. It was very therapeutic to hang out with the purrs. It was common ground I could bond with my 16 yr old son. Thank you Coal Cat Cafe ?

Clean place. Friendly staff. Nice to spend time with cats while sipping an espresso. I was glad that there is an application process. Thorough, caring company. Highly recommended.

Do you like cats? Do you stop to pspspsps every cat you see? If so, Coal Cats Cafe is the place for you! You walk into a small shop with trinkets & a little coffee bar, which is all wonderful on its own but for $10 a person, you get to meet & spend time with the kitties. My boyfriend & I came here recently [after hearing about it on tiktok] & spent quality time loving on the cats.Be careful though, if you aren't able to adopt one, you'll soon find yourself checking their FB for updates [weekly or daily] & texting your boyfriend "so & so found a home!!"10/10, we will be back! Excellent way to spend an afternoon!

We stopped by today on our way through. I had no idea it was here until I was looking for something nearby and came across it. I am so glad we stopped. The owners are super friendly and the shop is adorable. I love the coal mine theme. It’s a great place to stop by and relax for a bit supporting a great cause

It was an awesome place! Great owners and service! Nice gift shop, has different hot and cold beverages and small snacks. They redid the place and it looks so nice, great decor and setup. It was an enjoyable time hanging with the cats and playing with them.

For only $10, you can go hang out with cats! Most of the cats were very outgoing and came right up to you for pets or to play. A few shy cats stayed away and observed. The person working explained that all the cats are up for adoption and the cat cafe helps them get socialized with other people, kids, etc. The cafe had a few drinks and a little gift shop, but this was a great place to stop by after the fall foliage festival in nearby Jim Thorpe.

Came here for my birthday and had the most magical day. The cats were adorable and there was so many toys and treats to play with them. All the cats had different personalities and they seemed so happy. Thank you so much for an amazing experience can’t wait to come back, the iced hot chocolate was also delicious!

We camp near Tamaqua and came across this gem this year. We've traveled to the cat cafe in Wilkes-Barre so we had an idea of what this is like. The owner was very welcoming. The coffee selection was decent for a cat cafe with a big selection of flavor syrups to add to your drink. The little gift shop was fairly priced and had a lot of unique things. I loved the little black cat mascot, as we have a few furry voids at home. There was about 16 cats in the room when we went on a Saturday afternoon. You can tell they are well taken care of and that the staff cleans very frequently in there. With the 3 of us and the other family we had enough room that we didn't feel jammed in. There was one orange cutie that kept trying to knock my Niece's drink off the windowsill, and a precious long haired grey cat that claimed my husband's lap for the last half of the hour. We were given wet treat tubes to feed them which all the cats went nuts for and there were plenty of feather wands and toys for us to interact with the ones who wanted to play. The coal theme plays in perfectly to the area and the wagon appears to be the hang out area for the cats.It was a fun experience we plan to do again soon. It's a great cause (socializing and getting cats adopted) and the owner is obviously passionate about the mission.

I loved playing with the kitties and getting to know them. It's a great way to consider adoption or even just to have some kitty play time. The owner was super nice and have lots of information to help get to know them. Worth the drive. There is coffee, soda and some snacks for those who show up starving and kitty themed gifts.
