Amici Pizza & Pasta Family Restaurant

On my way home from Kalahari with my family, we googled for a nearby family style pizza shop to wrap up our fun little vacation away from our home NYC.

Upon entering the shop, it did seem a bit sketchy but nonetheless wanted to give it a try based on the 4.5 star reviews.

In honesty, the guy who took my order, forgot his name but had lots of tattoos was very nice and I explained to him I was curious about the magic of the shop. I also inquired about the store’s name Amici and he told me it meant friend in Italian however the current owners were Egyptian. He promised me he would “take care of me” and asked me to return in 20 minutes.

Beyond excited and imagining I would encounter the tastiest slices of pizza with my family, I waited the 20 minutes then returned back to the store, grabbed my pizza box and went back to my car to enjoy.

Upon opening the box, every single slice of pizza was burnt and the funny part was even one slice had nibble marks like someone bit into it…..seriously nibble marks! That should have been cue enough to discard it, but we proceeded to eat and guaranteed worst pizza in comparison to all these 4.5 ratings here.

I am not exactly sure what happened between ordering the pizza slices from the seemingly friendly tattoo guy to the rude Egyptian owner giving me the pizza? And what was the 20 minute wait for? My family and I were left in complete disbelief at what just occurred.

I am not certain how this establishment consistently gets 5 stars. Truly a 1 star experience.

I buy pizza in this place for around 17 years because it was always delicious. I ordered a cheese pizza today and it is not the pizza I used to like. I am disappointed, we didn’t like it, something in the sauce mixed with cheese didn’t click.
The owner is awesome. Maybe he has a new cook, I don’t know.

My family and I visited Amici’s on 8/19/25 while staying at Great Wolf, and it was such a great experience! We were a big group of 10, and they had no problem seating us comfortably. The customer service was absolutely 10/10—everyone was so kind and welcoming.

We ordered a little bit of everything—pasta dishes, pizza, appetizers—and every single person in our group was happy with their food (which says a lot for a group our size!). The prices were very fair, especially considering they’re only about a 6-minute drive from a major tourist spot.

Extra brownie points: if you feel like staying at the resort, they deliver right to you! 🙌

Huge thank you to the staff for being so wonderful and patient, even with our obnoxiously loud kiddos 🤣. We’ll definitely be back next time!

If you're looking for real authentic food and family atmosphere this is the place ! The nicest family own business. Even helped win my little son a toy. The food was delicious. Strongly recommend. Definitely will be back! ❤️❤️❤️
